This morning, during my devotional time, I was thinking that some people feel they don't have time for personal devotions, because they get the idea that they have to spend a certain amount of time. It's nice to spend half and hour or more, but even ten minutes is better than nothing. Taking the time to read a section of scripture and then meditate on it during the day is good. In fact, writing scripture out on 3x5 cards and carrying them around is helpful for memorizing scripture. I've got a lot of those cards and am going to start going back over them to refresh them in my mind. Don't pressure yourself to pray for every person on your prayer list during your devotional time. You can take those needs to the Lord throughout the day, as has been mentioned. I have a list of people I pray for every single day during my devotional time, but I continue to pray for them and other throughout the day.

That story has had a profound impact on me. It has significantly encouraged me to stick to it and not let the kids interfere with my time with the Lord. She had a lot of children in a small home, but her first priority was her spiritual life, which she instilled in her children.

Our challenge last night for our small group was to think about priorities this week & how we could rearrange them so that we could get closer to God. I was thinking about this thread when we were discussing it!
