Love is...

... sharing the gospel with someone you don't know
... giving a hug when you just don't feel like it but you know they need one
... not keeping a record of our fights
... doing things for others as if doing it for Jesus

Please share with me what love is to you.

LOVE IS...

Love is accepting people for their differences as much as their similarities

Love is the smile shared between a parent and their child

Love is the heart that doesn't let go of another, even when there is no reason to hold on.

Love is an enduraning memory or dream.

Love is a fire that no water can douse, that no wind can extinguish, that no dark can hide, that no cold can chill.

Love is what keeps us clinging to another when nothing else is worth holding on to.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love is silent.

It is action not words.

Done without anyone's knowledge.

But yours and God's.

Love is a beautiful sunrise, bringing warmth, filling the sky with many colors bouncing off the clouds, never the same, different and new every morning. Painted by the Master sky painter, lasting only a few minutes just for me to look at.

Love is unconditional. Agape.

Love is a choice not a feeling.

Love is the answer. Jesus is the way.

1 Corinthians 13: 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

I think the Bible tell us best what love is.

We have two commandments. To; love the Lord our God with all that we are and to lover others as ourselfs.

Jesus showed us what love is: Love gives......unselfishly......unreservidly......unconditionally. Love is Jesus nailed to the cross.

Love will take us out of our comfort zones......love puts faith before feeling(s)

if I have all the faith so I can move mountains, and do not have love.
I am nothing
