The most amusing part of Biden's lie was that before saying FDR was President during the 1929 stock market crash and then went on television, was that just before saying that, he said that the mark of good leadership is know what you're talking about. "Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence, is demonstrate that he or she knows what they’re talking about..." Abraham Lincoln, a real Republican, was on Meet the Press.

His penchant for regulation has been one of his greatest weaknesses. Does McCain-Feingold ring a bell? Ex-GOPer also seems to have forgotten who tried to reign in Fannie/Freddie (read:more oversight, regulation, and accountability) years ago only to be blocked by the corrupt Democrats getting fat pretending to care about poor people affording housing. Who tried to call them to account? Oh, yeah... George Bush and John McCain.

ORIGINAL: Ex-GOPer4Obama (blah blah blah) During the last election it was common for democrat operatives to call into talk shows etc and claim to be ex-republicans supporting the democrat candidate. I guess old habits die hard. Huh? How does a Bush-McCain supporter, of all people, dare accuse a complete stranger of lying about his or her user name? Does it really seem that incredible to you that the lies, cronyism, ineptitude, and downright stupidity that has run rampant through the Bush Administration would lead a Republican to opt out of the GOP? I've heard KKLA's drive-time gas bag dismiss Christians who call in for Obama as being "plants from the Obama campaign," implying that Christians couldn't really support a candidate who takes seriously Jesus' admonition to care for those who are poor or sick (socialism—such a horror, unless the public funds are going to bail out the greedy speculators on Wall Street!) or a candidate who understands the biblical expectation that a leader will count the cost before plunging his nation into an endless war. I am not a Democrat. I'm an independent, but until Bush-Cheney started their mischief, I had been a Republican for many moons. As a kid, I watched the Nixon Inauguration with great admiration for the president. About that time, I came to the conclusion that since the Republicans had more rich people, they must be smarter. When I was old enough to vote, I opted for the Republican Party, just like my parents and proudly cast my vote for Gerald Ford and later for Bush 41. (I was in college during the Reagan campaigns, and couldn't bring myself to vote for him. I wonder if the Gipper would support the old Trickle Down theory today if he knew that big business has perfected the practice of outsourcing, meaning that it's the workers in India and China who are getting wet from the rich folks' tax breaks as American middle class jobs are sent overseas.) I even voted for George W in 2000. But by the time he got us mired in Iraq, the lies and crookedness just became too much!

Does it really seem that incredible to you that the lies, cronyism, ineptitude, and downright stupidity that has run rampant through the Bush Administration would lead a Republican to opt out of the GOP? Not that incredible. It appears that you share the trait of making decisions based on emotion rather than reason with the liberals. Reason prescribes acknowledging how much better for America the Republican party is. Emotion throws a tantrum and throws baby and bathwater out together. quote:
I've heard KKLA's drive-time gas bag dismiss Christians who call in for Obama as being "plants from the Obama campaign," implying that Christians couldn't really support a candidate who takes seriously Jesus' admonition to care for those who are poor or sick (socialism—such a horror, unless the public funds are going to bail out the greedy speculators on Wall Street!) You need some smelling salts if you believe Obama or the Dems are good for the poor and sick. The Democratic party is the enabler of the cycle of poverty and dependency currently seen in the US. I cannot explain how a Christian could support a pro-infanticide, pro-homo candidate who claims Christ but denies Him by their deeds. quote:

Your 7 whole posts display advanced BDS and recent PDS (Bush and Palin Derangement Syndrome), and don't do much but scream, "Liberal!". We all know you are pulling the lever for 0bama in November, so give us all some credit and stop hiding behind the "Independent" label.

You're so poorly informed and your arguments are emotion driven, which is a hallmark of liberalism. You must be joking when you think BO cares about the poor. He certainly doesn't when it costs him money. Have you ever read about his tax returns? Only Ebenezer Scrooge and Joe Biden give less to charity. (Okay, I'll acknowledge that BO did better starting about two years ago which coincides with his run for President.) Do you know who George Obama is? It's BO's flesh and blood brother. He lives in a shack in a disease and crime infested slum. He wants to be a mechanic but can't afford it. BO lives in a mansion and makes millions. The McCains have established medical care for poor people around the globe, including working with the late Mother Teresa. They adopted a poor sick child and when another couple wanted to adopt a sick child the McCain's paid her medical bills because the couple couldn't afford it.

The last 7 years have seen unprecedented tax cuts on business since Dubya took over in 2001 and yet outsourcing of computer and IT jobs tripled from 2003 through 2006. You will also find that even democrats consistently cut taxes to get businesses in their districts, cities, counties etc. quote:

How come we are not hearing more about this. There really is a double standard in the media, and it's been going on for quite some time now. It was about 16 years ago. Dan Quayle mispells Potato(e) and everybody was talking about. Not too long after that. Al Gore visits Montecello with Bill Clinton, and looks of at presidential busts of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and asks, "Who are those guys?" The look on Clinton's face was priceless. At this time Rush Limbaugh had a TV show and that was the only place I saw the footage. Nowhere else was it even reported. Now this Biden thing I have not heard anything outside of the link here on Crosswalk. And it was pointed out here. I skimmed the article and I don't think CBS said anything about it. That should be Jay Leno monologue material!

How about the time Tony Campolo and Bill Clinton are leaving a Ron Brown memorial service and they're smiling about something. Clinton sees a camera and immediately starts crying. Campolo is completely unaware and continues to smile. Then when he's walked further from the camera, Clinton looks back to see if the camera has been put down so he can stop crying.

Was that another Limbaugh show? The clips on that show were priceless. The most memorable to me was when they showed the big gay and lesbian rally in DC shortly after Clinton took office. If the things that were shown on the Limbaugh Show were shown on normal TV they would lose half of their support easily.

Biden says dumb stuff sometimes. That's a regrettable part of the package. On the other hand, he's also terrific about being an insolent jerk when he needs to be. Sometimes you need to be insufferable to clear a path through the swamp of politics.

Obama was dumb when he said that children with asthma need breathalysers. There was no attempt to smear anyone. Biden, on the other hand, was trying to smear GWB, so he made something up. That's common practice among Democrats when discussing W.

I think Biden's gaffes would make some great SNL material. You know, art imitates life... But, nah, he's on the left. Can't pick on him. Might cost him an election....

ORIGINAL: huangshan Biden says dumb stuff sometimes. That's a regrettable part of the package. On the other hand, he's also terrific about being an insolent jerk when he needs to be. Sometimes you need to be insufferable to clear a path through the swamp of politics. Didn't help Al Gore much at his debates when he did the sighing, grimacing, and other intolerable noises that turned off so many people from him Now, let's get some popcorn and watch Biden wade into the same swamp Gore got mired in.
