I thought it would be fun to list what stuff we bought at NQC and what we liked the best (so far!). I'll start, but I'll probably add more comments later since I haven't had time to listen/watch all the CDs and DVDs that I bought.

Mark Trammell Trio - Always Have a Song ---- This has jumped to the top of my MTT favorites list!
Michael Howard (pianist for Soul'd Out) - Victory ---- Wonderful CD!
Dixie Echoes - So Many Reasons ----- Great CD!

Skyline Boys - Free & Forgiven
Jim Brady - self-titled solo CD
Dixie Echoes - Pensacola Life ---- got the CD and DVD
Ball Brothers - Simplified
Mark Trammell solo CD - Treasures of the Heart
Heather Chapple - Blessed
Collingsworth Family - Your Ticket to Music Hall DVD
Kim Collingsworth - Personal DVD
Triumphant Quartet - souvenir songbook
Midnight Meditations book from Roger and Debbie Bennett

Dinana,
I'm curious to know your thoughts on:
1) Jim Brady's solo CD
2) Ball Brothers CD
3) Midnight Meditation book

I plan to purchase Jim's solo CD next time I see the Booth Brothers. Also thought about mail ordering Ball Brothers CD since they don't make it to Texas. Also curious to know how Debbie et al. arranged the Midnight Meditations blog into the book. I kept up with Roger's (and now Debbie's) writing with great interest.

I agree with your assessment of Mark Trammell Trio's latest project. I purchased it a couple weeks ago when they were here and it's a great CD!

I also am anxious to read your report on the Parade of Pianos showcase. I missed this one due to power outage but I'm certain Gerald did a wonderful job. In fact, I think he did a wonderful job all week long at NQC. You can see his fingerprint on many of the changes/improvements they made this year!

Hope you had a great time and are not too exhausted!

I need to listen to Jim Brady's CD again when I'm not talking to Donna before I can really tell you much about it! I haven't listened to the Ball Brothers' CD yet or had time to look at the book.

I just posted my report on the Parade of Pianos on www.sgconcerts.com and I included a couple of videos. I didn't get a very good seat for pictures or videos this year but I posted two of them anyway.

I bought so many CDs I had to bring them home in one of our suitcases, so there is now way I can list them all here. I bought some top groups new releases like Mark Trammell Trio, Greater Vision and Signature Sound (finally was able to buy the "Influenced" CD that is only available at their product table). I also bought Three Bridges new CD, and it is excellent. But I mostly bought CDs by new groups that I had heard on the radio, heard in showcases at NQC, read about in the Singing News, etc. I knew I would probably not get another chance to purchase some of their music. My favorites so far:

CROSS 4 CROWNS (As I said in another thread they are a great male quartet, better than some groups that were on the main stage)
Paul's Journey
Liberty Quartet
Providence Quartet
Shiloh
Called Out Quartet
Sharon Kay King
Shaffers
Voices Won

I bought the Mark Trammell Trio's new CD, the Perrys' new DVD, Greater Vision's new CD, and the Gaither Vocal Band's semi-new CD (since I had the chance to get it autographed). I may have purchased one other thing or so, but I was really trying to keep within a budget this year.

I bought very little this year. Most new recordings I wait and purchase either on itunes or crossroads music. I picked up the Hoppers North America Live, Kim Hopper's I Just Wanted You To Know, the two CDs received by renewing my SN subscription and a sealed copy (LP) of the Greenes first recording Walking In God's Sunshine.

Did you buy that stack of LPs I saw you carrying around, or did you steal them?

Duh! I completely forgot that. I knew there was something I was forgetting. It seemed like I was missing something. Anyhow, I think that brings me up to date. :)
