So is the influence of armored vehicles.

as the liberals claim the governement only had more money, more problems would be solved

Again, examples? I'm reasonably certain the liberals' goal is to alter the composition of government to a certain degree--more focus on diplomacy, more expansive social programs--this is not something that the government is doing now, and as such, blandly throwing money at it doesn't seem like something a liberal would advocate.

Again, examples? You're making claims, I would like some examples. Some citations or something. I think it looks like you're making an opaque smear as opposed to an actual point.

Heavens! Forget about the poor - the homosexual lobby is offended.

Maybe if Stossel had used Oxfam or something, we'd get a (slightly) more accurate picture. Do you think black people would contribute to an organization that discriminates against black people? Why would homosexuals feel any different?

If you're a Christian, this should make you rethink a 100% faith in capitalism. Our faith should first and foremost be in God.

I thought people where supposed be diverse and mix their faith with equal part secular reasoning? Changing your tune?

Well, if more money isn't helpful, why would we need to eliminate the Bush tax cuts as Democrats propose?

The same could be accomplished by cutting programs.

The government having more of the people's money equates to fiscal responsibility?

When an increase isn't given and it's called a cut that says people believe that tossing more money is the only answer...

I suppose that depends on the programs getting cut, and I suspect that's where the disagreement lies.

Liberals are stingy. The Democratic ticket consists of two cheapskates.

Well, to be fair, they're nowhere near as loaded as McCain.

And while I'm aware of the charity disparity, I'm not sure that the Salvation Army is an appropriate comparison. The Salvation Army is an organization that discriminates in its hiring practices in a way that might rile certain subcultures in San Fransisco.

Almost everyone knows someone that is wealthier than they are. It is no excuse for being a tightwad. Obama's and Biden's level of giving was very small for their income.

While the Salvation Army experiment was hardly scientific, the Catalog for Philanthropy and book by Syracuse professor Arthur Brooks were.

Obama recently said, "I am my brother's keeper." His real flesh and blood brother lives in a shack in a disease and crime infested slum.

Actually, the disagreement generally lies with a willingness to cut programs, and and unwillingness to do so.

that would/will probably lead onto a separate thread titled, "One man's pork, is another man's (government/social) program!"
