Florida Gator fan here. It looks like an interesting season. Some problems were pointed out last week against Hawaii, but maybe they're worked out now. Some key players who were injured and did not play are back (Harvin and Spikes for two). Florida has the potential to go all the way, but we do play in the SEC, and there are at least three other teams there who have the same expectations, with good reason. Primary goal is to win the SEC.

Hey, got a question for all you TV experts out there. I've got a heavy decision right now whether to stay w/ Dish Network or bail out & go w/ Charter in order to get my local channels. But, I was wondering this one thing. Anyone who is familiar w/ the Atlanta affiliate for NBC, will they pick up Raycom Media? Need to know before Saturday for the SEC game. Thanks. kd

I have Direct TV and really like it. My son had dish network and told me to stay with Direct. I don't know about Charter.
But Direct has been good for us.
And about the rivalry?
Being from Texas we are Horns first and Tide second.
Our family reunions are always divided down the middle, Tide on one side and Tigers on the other. Those tiger family memebers are uh,ummm our uhmm. Well you know, every family has those we'd rather not discuss. Love'em but they need help.

I think I might have asked it wrong. It may not be Raycom I need to be checking on. It might be Lincoln Financial Group that handles SEC Game of the Week. That's what I was wondering if it runs through the Atlanta or San Francisco NBC affiliate.

Living in Auburn, my family has always been Tiger fans & pretty much all my extended family is too. We do have our share of Tide fans & many even work at the university! It has been tough over the years, but I've learned to respect my friends that are Tide fans just as much especially when their kids go off to Tuscaloosa & graduate w/ good degrees. So, I'm very supportive of U of Alabama in producing quality education.

But, it never fails, every time I turn around & need help regarding something like Dish Network, I end up at customer service.......w/ a Tide fan! We get such a big laugh out of it & in the end, the important thing is that we ARE supporting football, no matter who the team is. War Eagle! kd

Beware Tennessee in Knoxville (rebounding from embarrassing loss at UCLA).

We always have to beware of Tennessee, and yes their loss to UCLA was embarrassing. I believe we have what it takes to beat them this year, but anything can happen in the SEC. Just ask Steve Spurrier and South Carolina. It should be an interesting season.

Living on the Left Coast I'm a fan of the Pac 10 and WAC. I'm hoping USC sticks it too the east coast elitists who usually don't give the west a second look. I also loved what Fresno State did to Rutgers.

As much hype as USC gets and the level of respect of the Pac 10 in general I'm not sure east coast bias works here.

The Big East and the ACC have been trashed at the start of the season (for good reason, they look terrible). Granted the SEC gets much hype but its hard to argue with that. The Big 10 doesn't enjoy a great deal of respect either. I suspect most fans outside of Ohio expect a rout for USC next week verses "The Ohio State University".

I think (and I think experts would also say this) that the Pac 10 is the third strongest conference, behind the SEC and the Big 12 (with Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and Texas). Maybe even ahead of the Big 12 (which has many weaker schools also).

And a part of you had to love UCLA's upset of Tennessee (win for the Pac 10) but it was your arch rival so maybe not so much.

Oh, I forgot to mention how great it was when Cal beat the Michigan State. Whoo hoo!

Also, I don't think it's hype when you've got a team as good as USC. Next Saturday will tell the tale, though.

Oh it's most definitely hype. Its just well deserved hype as opposed to misplaced hype or overhype.

Gators are also undefeated for the first two games, and although I can't say they were easy games, there are probably tougher ones coming. Miami (Florida) though, appears to be back in contention. We're open this week and then take on Tennessee.

Kansas lost by three points with just two seconds to go. How sad.
