Well, the Olympics are here so that'll be a distraction. Plus, the Cubs are still in first place

But Obama and McCain are both taking vacations very soon (Obama to Hawaii to visit family, McCain to Arizona) to rest up before the big push to November, so it'll be nice to have them both off the radar for a bit.

It was a comment based on the fact that often in these threads emotions become so inflamed that common sense and calm dialogue seem rare.

Don't forget human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, and mass hysteria.

But if the Cubs keep playing as is, they'll clinch the division for the second consecutive year. At last check, they had the best record in the National League.

I think we should revamp the entire election calendar....

Have the primaries in August, conventions in October and vote in November!
