My goodness, I am as conservative as one can get. MO is not my favorite person, but, I will give this Obama family, they have only been married to one anothet, and seem to love their girls. I mean the things they are wrong on fine I agree, no respect for them in those issues, but, I find no fault with their parenting ( except chruch), but I think they seem to love, and nurture their children. I have to be fair, and honest about this one.

You mean like the Bush twins were paraded around for their father's campaign? Yeah....good parenting there. Put down the grape-juice dude-- it should only be drunk in small doses.

Oh no of course she should be home - just so folks could accuse her of not being a supportive spouse and standing behind her husband.

She's in one of those spots where she _____ if she does and ______ if she doesn't.

I believe folks who support abortion have an issue in regards to loving their children given they could have just as easily murdered them as have them... The belief system they and their children were under and I will assume still believe in doesn't lend itself to the nurturing of children(or anyone for the matter for the sake of anything good and if they are raised with the idea that homosexuality is normal and just fine in the sight of God they are not raising their kids in the way they should go...

And yet, that never happened to Michelle Obama's kids - but I'm sure she appreciates your concern for their welfare.

The ones we know of... Of course given the beliefs of the parents their kids are lucky to be alive... And they will have to be more lucky to be raised in the way they should go... Like I said, anyone that thinks nothing of murdering the unborn children can't escape have issues with truly loving the ones they allow to live given their ugly mindset and lack of regard for life in general...

So you're suggesting that MO has had other children, or abortions? Based on what? Your intimate knowledge of her medical history?

Given their belief system the possibility is there... Regardless if they haven't they support the action which makes them as guilty as anyone who has...

I don't know you personally, but based on some of your posts, I doubt that there are any parents on earth (other than yourself) that meet your standards. In fact, I doubt there is any other person, PERIOD, on earth, that meets your standards.

Most parents support murder and sexual perversion? Is it really too much to ask that people don't support such things? Interesting that when one mentions the inherent evil of man people respond about how good man is and how we are in God's image, even those who don't believe can be really nice yet it's too much to expect people to not support blatantly evil things... Just how low is the bar, Julius?

It's not John's standards that matter...or Julius's or Peter's. It's God's alone.

Face it...Obama rocketed to "stardom" very, very quickly. I'm sure his wife had a lot to do with that. I believe she's just as eager to be in the White House as he is. And I don't think she'll be spending her time there baking cookies for her daughters' classes!

If Michelle "just wants to be a mom" and Obama says that his wife is off limits for criticism from political pundits, here's an idea for Mrs. Obama.....Stop putting yourself in the picture by campaigning and making stupid comments like "this is the first time in my adult life that I'm proud of my country" or that "America is a mean nation", comment that you full well KNOW will draw the ire of a good percentage of Americans....

First of all, why are those comment's "stupid"? And secondly, Michelle Obama could "draw the ire of a good percentage of Americans" just by saying "Good Morning."

Because it shows the deep rooted black liberation theology her and her husband have been a part of for 20 years.

McCain should have thought about that when he told Sean Hannity "I really didn't love America until I was deprived of her company..". I'm sure that drew the ire of a good percentage of Americans too.

Neither Michelle Obama's comment nor McCains indicate a lack of patriotism. Gaffes have happen (and no doubt will continue) in both campaigns.

That dosen't make it stupid. Anymore that what you just wrote is "stupid". It's just her opinion based on her lifes experience. You disagree because you've maybe you've always had reason to be proud of her country, but some people haven't. McCain made a similar statement when he got back from Vietnam - that he never felt patriotic until he was released from captivity and returned to the U.S..

I agree, no more to add. BTW: I love America, look at my post history. But I can accept differing opinions. Its easy for me to be proud of America, I'm a white guy. Not believing America is not the greatest thing in the world is not in and of itself wrong or sinful.

First, this statement was from 30 years ago at least, Michelle's from last year at the most. So her statements are more current, that makes a difference. As far as McCain's statements go, I think he meant that he loved America more, that he took America for granted before he was away for so long. There are a number of people and things all of us could say that about. We might love our wife but if she leaves for a year we might love her all the more, to the point where we believe we didn't truly love her before. So I'm not seeing the equivalency, unless the idea is that we all make statements that can be misinterpreted.

But I don't think Michelle's* statements (which don't upset me and I'm not putting her down for) are the same as or equal to McCain's statement.

I have to be fair, and honest about this one.

Knowing you are not an Obama fan at all, I commend you on your fairness.

* I use Michelle Obama's first name to differentiate her from Barack Obama. This isn't prejudice against the female gender.

No, it does. BLT is nonsensical, divisive, racist, and a doctrine of hatred. Nothing self-professing Christians should be involved with, tolerate, embrace, promote.

And that what be the end of it, agreed. If her husband wasn't running for President of the United States.

This thread is not about McCain, so let's remain focused.

Got it, anyone who believes in personal freedom - and personal responsibility - cannot, by definition, be a good parent.

Thanks for clarifying.

"Personal freedom" equals "killing whatever is in the way of my right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Hmmmm...sort of neatly sums up the Muslim theology with an American twist.

Nope...parents that teach that are nothing short of evil. I don't care how many cookies they bake!

Personally, I don't think talking about Michelle is neccesary at all unless she puts herself out there as a Barak representative (which she seems to be doing less of).

Of course, I don't expect the left to follow suit in their treatment of Cindy McCain.
