I just read a newspaper story about Christian the lion (whoever named him had a sense of humour [:D]) and his amazing story of living in the middle of London and finally being reintroduced to the wild. Then I watched this YouTube video and dissolved into tears... awwwww!! Such a foretaste of the whole of creation living together as friends!

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. (Isaiah 11:6)

No gunman [:D]. In a TV interview the two guys said they were not worried at all because they could see the delight in Christian's face as he ran towards them. A longer clip on YouTube shows how a very young Christian loved to jump up and wrap his paws round their necks, so what he did at their reunion was just what they expected. He did the very same thing (and knocked them right over in his enthusiasm) at their next neeting three years afterwards, when he was a fully grown 600-pound king of the savannah.

P.S: The old man in the clip is George Adamson, of "Born Free" fame, who had reintroduced Christian into the wild and I'm sure would have told them to scram if Christian had appeared aggressive.

Ya coulda warned me that Whitney would be caterwauling in the background! My ears are bleeding now. [;)] The rest of the video was pretty cool, though.
