You can call me DD or any variation there of.

I'm sorry for calling you AD. Sometimes when the thoughts hit fast, my mind will lose track. I can't type as fast as I think, so shortening the screen names was helpful. Dude, I felt was a little disrespectful, so I didn't want to use that one. Now I know and will be more conscientious.

I generally don't call people by their real names unless they have it in their handle or sig or they have, like Sharon-Marie, expressed a preference for it.

No worries. I had the chance to go back and read the post again. It really bothered me when people did it in chat. I'd lose track of the convo before I realized who said what to me.

Sometimes people would refer to me as HIS, it would take me a moment to realize that people were talking to me. Also, it is ok to call me Mikey sometimes, but not too often though.

That's a little pretentious, don't you think? SWMBO, is okay though.

Wel, uhm, since when did pretentiousness become a probelm?

SWMBO . . . Sounds like some kind of a SWAT team member laughing off part of their anatomy.
I didn't even know they were allowed to laugh.

Besides, isn't is kind of dangerous to laugh while carrying those weapons that they use?

As a performer, it was always wierd to be called by my real name by friends when I was in character. Then I have my character names on the MMORPG that m'love and I play. Since we both have characters with names that start with E my bro-in-law called us E^2 (E to the 2nd power).

But in RL I'm Dawn. I do hope there isn't a quiz coming up. I'd have to print out a cheat sheet.

Now you can call me Humble but my friends call me Mike instead.

Oh good, because that's what I've always called you.

I've been lazy about the hyphen in Shar-Mar's name. Just always typed "SharMar", but now that I know she prefers it the other way...will do.

James...Dude...this is a great thread!

I have my name (Christi) in my sig line, so it's fine to call me that. Any variation of my SN is fine too. I've been called Zman before which made me feel like they thought they were talking to a guy , but that's okay. It got straightened out soon enough.

Actually, Christi, and to confuse matters even more . . . while I do definitely prefer the hyphen in "Sharon-Marie", it's not a big deal whether it's there or not in "Shar-Mar" . . . it's just habit with to me to insert the hyphen. However, I think I'm the only one that does . . . I've seen "SharMar" and I've seen "Shar Mar" . . . either one are fine.

It was actually a nickname given to me by some posters here in the threads a few years back . . . so you'll hafta ask them whether or not there's a hyphen in "Shar-Mar". LOL

Well, okay...if you don't mind my typing "SharMar" then I'll keep doing it that way since it's second nature for me to do it that way.

What tickles me most is that we talked online for what? a year maybe? before we met in real life and I call you SharMar in real life most of the time now. It kind of makes me and at the same time.

You can call me phosadaud (and it's really funny to see how some people spell it) or Kristin (and only my family calls me Kris but that wouldn't bug me either). If we're friends, you can call me those or phosy, phos, or other versions of my handle.

Only certain posters I am friends with are allowed to call me terms of endearment like "honey", "dear", "little lady", "girl", etc because I know they are doing it to tease me (as a friend) since that's a pet peeve of mine. And since I like being a brat myself, it's works...

My biggest thing is tone. Don't be using any name if you are saying it to be a jerk.
