If you like blues - I'm listening to Ryan Mcgarvey and Patrick Droney. They are both young artists with a lot of talent.

Also got two new Billy Joel's and checked out a few various tracks: "Piano Man" and 'Turnstiles".
I'm hoping you mean new to your collection, because both those albums are from the 70's.

I'm listening to Stanley Jordan Live from New York.

Yes, new to me. I used to have them on vinyl (I still might) but I was young then so they probably are not in great shape.

I hope my vinyl jacket of "Streetlife Serenade" is in good shape. That is a great album cover.

I found this song on a blog that offered a free download. Really great song by a group called SistaO. That is what I'm listening to currently!

Blackmore's Night: The Secret Voyage.

More quality medieval rock (for lack of a better term) from Ritchie Blackmore (ex Deep Purple & Rainbow), Candice Night and their band of minstrals. Not a departure from previous efforts (a bit too much same-o, same-o) but if you're a fan (like me) you'll enjoy it. After all, they don't sound like anyone else in the quasi mainstream at the moment, they are somewhat unique and have a trademark sound. That makes the sameness a little easier to take.

I just wish it was more Renaissance-y and less modern (both lyrically & musically) but since this is Blackmore's main project I get that he wants to bring all his ideas to bear.

A classic band in this vein is (conveiently enough) Renaissance. They were a 70s prog rock band that had a major renaissance-y style influence. At least just as much as Blackmore's Night. Once my self imposed CD buying ban is lifted (in late November) I'll probably pick up "Novella" from this band.

I'm a big fan of David Sanborn, he's a really smooth jazz saxophonist who plays some nice chill music. This man’s music has been playing in my family’s house since the 80’s. haha. My friends at umgd told me August 12th is when his CD Here and Gone comes out! If you are not familiar with him or his music I recommend checking out this Myspace page. Let me know what you think!

David Sanborn is good stuff. I have one of his CD's. It has Bang Bang and Snakes on it.
