My friend and I listened to Sixx: A.M. He liked it but I think he was less impressed than I was.

I also listened to the Sex Pistols: Never Mind the Bollocks ... I actually found it at Walmart for $7. I bought it mostly due to its rock music historical importance. If you think I did a sinful thing know ye this: I paid the full penalty for my sin by listening to it all the way through (as is standard procedure). Just wow. I liked the first song but every song was like a cacophany of noise. "Anarchy in the U.K." was good. As was "EMI" but that may have been because it was the last one.

Everything past listening to it all the way through was in jest. Don't be offended Sex Pistols fans. Honestly though, I absolutely did not get it. So it'll go on the CD rack never to be heard from again unless I meet a friend, or better yet a chic, who is into them. But the album's influence on rock makes it worth the $7 and worth keeping. Especially since I collect CDs. And its good that Walmart is carrying classic albums for cheap (as opposed to all the greatest hits stuff that they normally focus on, which makes business sense).

From what I noticed with Sixx:AM, the music is much more complex than what Nikki usually does What I love most about the album is that it isn't what you would expect from a member the main song writer for Motley Crue. It is a breathe of fresh air.

I know exactly what you mean about The Sex Pistols. I have heard alot of their songs and couldn't tell you which was which, because it all sounds like Anarchy in the UK.lol I really don't understand why this band is so important, except for proving beyond a shadow of doubt that the talentless can sell a lot of albums. Then again, I am not much of a punk rock fan. I only listen to The Misfits, a bit of the Ramones, and AFI.

CCR: Chronicle. Its amazing to hear how many hits they had and to hear them one after another. I just got it at Walmart and haven't listened to it all the way through yet. BTW: Walmart is really stepping up on its music department. Kudos.

Anberlin: "Paperthin Hymn". Great song. and I listened to a couple of others from that CD.

Juliana Theory: Love. Great stuff. I listened to four songs including the incredible and uplifting "Into the Dark".

I totally agree. My friend likes power and prog metal so it may have not been different enough from Motley Crue for him. He did ask where he could buy it though so I guess he liked it. He does do that then later says it wasn't really his thing after all.

I do admit it took about 6 views of Sixx:AM's video for Life is Beautiful till I finally bought the album. Each listen made it grow even more on me. Then came Crue-fest, which I am still angry at myself for. I get their only to find out that I missed Sixx:AM's performance. I was cussing the whole night. Then Motley Crue came on and I sat back and enjoyed hearing Saints of Los Angeles. It marked the 3rd time gtting see Motley Crue.

I used to see the Crue on the strip before fame. I saw them only once on the "Big stage" opening for KISS at the Ampitheatre at Universal Studios on their "Shout at the Devil" tour. KISS was on their "Lick It Up" tour sans make-up. The Crue looked more like old KISS that Paul, Gene and the boys. Vinnie Vincent was no Ace Frehley either.

The Sixx AM (tired of doing the oddball punctuation) boys wrote Motley Crue's new CD. Not just Nikki Sixx but his cohorts in Sixx AM as well.

You were but just a little. Actually I was born too late also (1970). But I'd be even older, tireder, unhealthier so I should be happy about it.

Yeah I saw that Sixx AM wrot most of the album. That would expain why it is much different and imo the best Motley Crue album ever.

I was born in 1979. Old enough to remember how good the 80's were.lol
