I think one of the key things to remember here is that the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. God knows that we, as people, need rest, or we'll burn out. This is a lesson that many of us here in America would do well to learn. What rest means is different for everyone. It should be something different from how we spend most of our time. For instance, if we spend the week sitting in an office chair working at a computer, it might be a good idea to spend a day out doing something physical - taking a hike, riding a bike, etc. If our work is physically tasking, then, it could be a good idea to find a way to relax in a more sedentary manner - reading a book, playing on the computer, watching a movie/TV, etc. It's something the individual must figure out for themselves. And, of course, all of this should be done with a thankful attitude to God for giving us this opportunity to rest.
