From last week's chat thread: How's motherhood treating you? I will be in St. Paul this week-end. Us girls are going to visit our cousin. We are makeing it our "sister get-away" But decided to visit Kay this year. She is going through cancer..but is doing great so far. All the treatments are working well for her. Would'ent it be great if we could meet you before we pull out on Sunday? Let me know what you think about that thought. Barb, I would really love to meet up with you and Pam this weekend but we have a big family get-together this weekend and folks coming in from out of town so we won't be home but will be out and about at family events. [&o] I mean, I'm happy about the family stuff but sad I will miss seeing you two. Rats! I'm glad to hear your cousin is doing well with her treatments. That's rough, though. I will say a prayer for her. Motherhood is great and busy. Oh goodness, there is no preparation for living on no sleep at all, is there! You just couldn't possibly convey to a pregnant woman how little sleep she will have once baby gets here. We have a good baby, too, I mean, he's laid-back and easy but he is still a lot of work. Being a mom has really made me appreciate every mother out there for their sacrifice. That being said, though, I love being Adam's mom and he's a great kid. He just turned 4 months old and he loves to snuggle (could melt your heart, I tell ya!) and sleep and giggle and smile. Lately he's really uncorked himself with talking. He's been able to jabber for a while now but he only does it here and there. Lately it's been a lot of 3 minutes of "talk". So cute. Today I got about 2 minutes on video before he realized I was filming and stopped to stare at the camera. It's not great video like "Ooh, let's all gather around and see", but it's part of his history that I'll be happy to show him someday. I also have really enjoyed watching my husband fall into the father role and the very sweetness it brings out in him. My husband has always been a gentle and kind soul, a real thinker and snuggler, but he is different with Adam -- protective, expecting, hopeful, happy. Not a day goes by that my stressed-out-by-work husband doesn't crack up laughing at Adam and something Adam is doing or how Adam is looking at him. It's so cute to watch those two together. Yesterday Adam had his first train ride when we went to downtown Minneapolis on the light rail to have lunch with a friend. My DH had Adam in a baby carrier. He even let me take his picture of him carrying the baby in it WHILE ON THE TRAIN. It just is really cool to see this man become the kind of father the Lord wanted him to be. My husband rocks. Anyhow, motherhood's good. Sleep is somewhat my own fault as it seems like I get so very little done during the day that once Adam nods off for the night I stay up late and do "me" stuff or finish picking up the house. Crazy, but I do need a little time to myself and that only comes in small spurts lately. I have enjoyed this ride called Motherhood, though, and consider myself really unworthy of it but definitely very grateful! Sorry for the long answer.....you know me....I'm not one for one-liners, you know? Hey, how's Daddy White-Pants? Love, Twin [sm=icon_smile.gif]
