Hi I need your prayers please. This was the third night this week that Nath has been awak every 1-2 hours and then every 2-3 hours. Sometimes for an hour at a time. I am sooooooo tired, I feel like I have a newborn again or something. This is day 4 of gluten free and so far nothing has changed, it seems to have got worse. I am just out of ideas and strength at the moment, I just want to sleep!

Oh Nicole, I feel ya girl! My guy has not slept more than 3 hours at a time since Rob left. I don't know why but his sleep habits have tanked since then. Most nights he wakes every 2-3 hours but every once in a while he'll pull an every-1-hour night and once even woke every 20 minutes a few times. Ugh! I feel like I have a newborn again, too. I'm sorry. I totally could have smothered a baby before my reduction surgery. When Gabe was a newborn his head was like a tennis ball and my breast was like a volleyball, maybe bigger. I did have a LC smoosh him into my breast so much that he couldn't breath and he panicked. I couldn't get him to latch on for hours afterward.

I just changed Levi and found a TON of halved peanuts in his diaper. Brian fessed up to sharing with him. Apparently, Levi neither chews OR digests peanuts. LOL

Yep, I'm back! Was gone for a while when we were getting ready for Rob to leave and then for a few weeks afterward. It was just too crazy. PrincessDonna, that's funny! I just changed Zion and found a diaper full of grape peels. Blech!

Thanks Jennifer, Julie and Nicole. I got an hours nap before. Hopefully he sleeps better tonight. I am doubting whether it is gluten/wheat that is bothering him though as he hasn't got any better, worse infact since I went on this diet. I will go til Monday on it I guess to see if it improves at all. I got in to see my GP tomorrow, so please pray that he will listen to me and help me find a solution. He is a Christian, he used to go to our church, I taught his sons for a while too. We just need wisdom as to what to investigate, whether its allergies or a physical problem that he may have. Please pray for me tonight.

ORIGINAL: Room2Grow Nicole, have you kept a good food diary? If this has not helped and it is getting worse, then the culprit is probably something that is in as a substitute- that is why when I eliminated wheat, I knew something was still wrong but couldn't pinpoint it until the allergist. I will pray for a miracle night for you- that sleep deprivation is killer! I wish we could get together and chat, but that's a little difficult! I totally understand the walking zombie/ready to lose your mind state- it gets old... Do you guys have Skype? You could have a conversation that way...it can be just audio call or video call. And it`s totally free.... (((Nicole))) I really hope you get some answers soon. Have you started weaning yet?

Nah, I don't have skype. I can't use the computer tomorrow either until later on when hubby is awake (thankfully that's the last of night shift for a few weeks!!) I am weaning during the day, he gets about 4 breast feeds or 5 during day/night. I am wondering if it is a physical problem, like in his bowels, intestine or something that is causing the wind to get trapped like that. I don't know what other food to get rid of. I wish I kept a diary of the non-dairy period because there were a few nights when he slept ok towards the end but then there was the odd rough one too, but that could of been teething some of that time, he still passed wind, but there wasn't the scream that he has now. I don't know. I am so confused as to what to do.

Tomatoes make the most interesting diapers for me, and he loves cherry tomatoes. Nicole, I pray that you are able to find a solution. I don't have a any answers for you, but you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Yolanda. I don't eat that much eggs, although I guess its added into stuff. I have found an australian breastfeeding site where I have posted to find out more. Reading some of their posts people have said that dairy and soy, and even banana's have been nasty. And some have said it can take like 6 weeks for the gut to repair. So maybe the diary is the culprit and I need to stay off it longer. He has been off of Losec too since Monday, which is when he started to get worse, so maybe he needs to go back on, I go off dairy again for longer and see if that helps? I should be in bed, but this is the only time I can use the computer before I see the GP tomorrow. Boy oh boy nath better stay asleep!

I think if it`s something like Celiac, it can take a while for the intestines to heal and swelling to go down. Weeks or months. But, I`m not entirely sure on that, you would have to look it up maybe. Oh, and I just want to encourage you Nicole, if you don't get the help you need from your doctor, try to stand your ground, and keep pressing him until you get some help. Don't let him dismiss you, he hasn't been around for the last 11 months to know the struggle you guys have had. I'm not saying you need to harrass him or anything, but don't let him brush you off either.

Nicole, I would fight, fight, fight to see either an allergist or a pediatric gastroenterologist. Actually, at this point a pediatric GI is probably your best bet, because he can deal with both the allergies and the gas problem. Is is his poop mucousy? I tend to agree with Yolanda that it could be more then one allergy, that isn't really uncommon and most babies have more then one. Dairy and soy often go together, and any of them could be combined with wheat.
