please pray for me ,i have lost faith in god or just grown cold it seems so far away anymore god.i need to know god is real .am i just to live a lie iwant to have real faith.is it wrong to pray for faith.they say faith comes from hearing word.but its not working for me.i read the bible go to church and nothing i pray but nothing .you know what frightening i taught sunday school at one time.I thought I believed but relly didnt i lied to myself.

Hi Digger, welcome!! I am glad you are here..
Let me tell you first, you are not lying to yourself, this is satan lying to you to get you away
from God. He is trying to get you to losen your grip on the Lord, your faith, your trust until
you just let go all together. Then he won't have to bother with you at all because you won't
be a threat since you aren't following God anymore. He is on you so strong right now because
you have these feelings, so obviously you are doing right by god and satan hates that, SO,
this is a good thing..Trust me, I have been in your shoes before and then all of a sudden
like a month passed by and that dark cloud finally lifted. No matter how low I felt, or how much
I felt like I would prayed and God wasn't there, or went to church and felt nothing, I just kept going and going. I started seeing a slite change and just forced myself to focus more and more on god.
Every time something would go wrong or I was having a bad day, I would catch it and just start talking and praying to the Lord.
I finally started seeing a change, God answers in his timing, and now I realize he was doing this and testing me and it worked, then he finally answered my prayers. He saw that I was refocusing on him and just giving him my problems. I just kept reading my bible and attending any church functions, and realized God wanted me counting on him and trusting in him..
Keep your head up and just pray to the Lord, pray for him to show himself to you, ask him to guide you, and just keep reading in the bible everyday. Things will start to change and just keep going...

Hi digger, and welcome. Perhaps the Lord is trying to answer your prayer to increase your faith by bringing you here, to this site. A site about Him. Where people who love Him come, and can tell you how very much He loves you. Whoever you are and wherever you are, you are precious to Him.
satan tries to attack our faith. Stand strong. God is real. Jesus is real. Salvation is real.

Dear Father, help digger to look around and see You all around him (or her). Help him to start singing praises to You right now, and fill him with Your peace and joy and assureance as he does. Strengthen his faith dear Lord. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen

Hi Digger,

So, you've lost your Faith in God? You taught in Sunday school and at the time you never believed in Him.

Yet somehow ... you still go to church ... you read the Bible ... and you pray .... Can you see what is happening here? Deep inside you there is the slightest tiny little bit of belief. Otherwise you wouldn't be doing these things. Otherwise you wouldn't be asking us to pray for you.

So we've established that you believe ... even though it is a little bit. And you ask: Is it wrong to pray for Faith?

Read Mark 9 14:29. In there, a man brought his son to Jesus so that He could heal Him. He said "Have pity on us, and help us, if you possibly can".

Jesus replied: "If you possibly can! Everything is possible for the person who has Faith."

The man said: "I do have Faith, but not enough. Help me to have more!"

And that's what you should do ... pray for more Faith. Right now your Faith is right down and doubts have crept in. This is natural.

When God invited us to love Him, He didn't want to force us to do so. He wanted us to love Him freely without any coercion on His part. So He allowed doubts to creep in. Doubts help us question our relationship with Him. Like in any other human relationship we normally ask ourselves questions as we get to know someone and become friendly with them. And it's the same in our relationship with God. We ask questions in order to get to know Him better.

Of course, too much doubt can lead us astray. The devil plays havoc with our doubts as he tempts us away from God.

So we must learn to control our doubts and ask God to help strengthen our Faith.

If we're honest with Him, if we really want to strengthen our Faith, He will not let us down. After all, it is not in His interest to lose you from His flock; is it?

So pray for more Faith; and I'll pray for you too.

Father,

Thank you for the desire of digger1191 to have faith.

Please give the faith of Jesus Christ to digger1191. Help them to know know that your are and that you reward those who diligently seek you. Help them believe the Bible, your Word and to live it.

Help digger1191 to truly be in contact with you when praying. Help them to desire faith for the reason of loving you with their whole being and for the reason of loving others as themselves...for the reason of fulfilling the royal law of love.

Luke 10:27
He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind' ; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' "

Thank you for all that you have gone through to make possible a relationship with you. We praise you and ask this for digger1191 in the name of Jesus Christ who sacrificed Himself so that we can have this relationship with you. Amen.

Digger... I've had my doubts about God, too. I think everyone has. Its hard to believe when things don't seem to be going how you want them too. But believe me... He is there, and He DOES care about you. As someone else once told me, sometimes you have to wait and see let the Lord do His work in His own time.

Do NOT let the Devil get to you and cause you not to believe. If you do that, he will win. God DOES love you and He WILL eventually help you. Keep your faith, because that can sustain you even when nothing else seems to.

I will be praying for you.

I have went through almost the exact same feelings that you have mentioned, and like others have said it is satan lying to you. satan had me believing that nothing I did was right and that I was lost and going to hell, etc. etc. But I kept praying and praying and the feeling of despair soon began to lessen. It will take time but God will bring you through it if you just believe in him. satan will still try everything to get you to doubt but don't believe him. Even now the devil is trying to tell me tht I am foolish for believing in all this, but I tell him to get behind me and leave me alone, all you have todo is put your faith in Jesus and he will bring you through anything.
