Most people will not be able to participate in this thread. Nevertheless, I still want to get feedback and information from those who do have experience. My church sent me and few others to Mexico for 3 months for short-term missions (I realize this not officially overseas). Has anyone ever gone to overseas missions through their church or a Christian organization?

I spent over 20 years in Mexico, Central America, South America, Philippines, Cambodia, and Malaysia.

So yea I have had long term experience.

I've spent many years in the Middle East, and have made multiple trips to Europe.

I trained new missionaries in cross-cultural communications.

I spent over six years in Kenya. I'm currently working Stateside working with International Students.

What kind of information were you looking for, specifically?

I was a few years in Russia with a missions organization.
