I remember standing beside my Mom's bed for 3 days she, was in a coma, in and out. She was mumbling something I didn't know what it was but she seemed to be in stress.
I asked my sisters if anyone called a Pastor to pray with her. They hadn't.
I phone one I found in a phone book I am undenominational, and from another city.
When the Pastor approuched my Mom he took her hand and, started to pray she opened her eyes, and looked right at him, He asked her if she knew who Jesus was as plain as day, she said yes.
Thats the first, words she spoke clear and opened her eyes in days.
Her eyes were shining, 20 minutes before my Mom passed I left the room and went home thats what I wanted to remember about Her.
My sister told me after, that she lifted her head looked around at everyone, laid down and passed away peaceful.
Before that prayer, and before she acknowledge Jesus ,she was in agony.
Every person needs to have the opportunity to heard that name before they die, Just like the man on the cross with Jesus.

Yes, Ask, then Pray .Pray for them and your self as this will be a life changing event you will real live many times !

The short and sweet answer to the OP, do I talk to them about God. Yes, I pray for them, and I ask them if they know the Lord. If yes they do know the Lord, than it probably would be a great comfort to talk about Him in a time like that. If no, they do not, then this may be their last chance to know about Him.
But, aside from that, should we also be asking the same question if the person is not in critical danger. We really never know when someone is minutes from death, so we should be using every chance we get to spread the good news of the Gospel.
