There was a tragedy in one of our churches here in Knoxville this morning.
A gunman entered the church with a guitar case that had a loaded gun in it and fired on the congregation. There is one dead and five in critical condition.
I have not heard if the gunman had any connection to someone there.
Please pray for this church, the families that were there, those who were shot and the children who were acting in a play during the service and were present during the shooting.

Shooting took place at Tennesee Valley Universal Unitarian Church very near 2nd Presbyterian Church. Thought to have been in youth church where a play was going on. Police have one in custody. www.wbir.com radio.

I come again to ask for prayer. Thursday morning I will be going into the hospital for thyroid surgery. I have a goiter in mine that is growing 2 groweths. I will probly be in the hospital 2 day after surgery. Lynn & Sam have my contact info. I will ask Paul to give one of them a call or they can call him if they wish. Thank you my friends for prayers, without them I could not get through life.

This may be a little unusual. I had a patient early this morning named Christina. She was 22 years old and had been using crack cocaine. She said she had been "partying" since Thursday and hadn't been to sleep. She was living in her car. Say a prayer that God will touch her heart in some way -- She will never make it to 23 if He doesn't. Thanks.

Praying for all requests.
Please keep my eldest son in your prayers. He's going through an episode battling his depression again. I've talked to him at great lenths this afternoon about his need to turn his life back to the Lord. He is listening but is leaning towards a non-protestant faith at the moment. I told him to keep praying and to talk to his uncle the pastor if needed. I felt like I really got through to him and he has come a long way since moving down here with us in March. Keep praying.
Thank you for your prayers for our safe travels this weekend. We had a marathon trip home but safe and uneventful on the roads.

If y'all could say a prayer for my friend. She has to have surgery to remove her gallbladder and its a definite need to be done. Only thing is that she doesn't have health insurance. If you could say a prayer for her.

Just an update.....sorta.
Remember I asked prayer for our little dog, Trixie? Turns out my grandma suspects the culprit to be LILY OF THE VALLEY.....a very toxic plant! There is some on our property and since they kept her out of it, she hasn't had any spells.
Now for the bad news. Turns out the older dog, Buttons, was in worse health than I knew. My grandparents knew but didn't tell me; they said they didn't want to ruin my Kentucky vacation (music school). What they don't know is we Christians have PRAYER as our weapon! I didn't even have a chance to pray for healing for Buttons! She had diabetes with a host of other ailments. On early Monday morning, July 21, she went into a diabetic seizure. By 9am she was still not out of it and my grandparents decided to have her put down. I sure am gonna miss my best bud! 
I just know when I get to Heaven,
And I open my mansion door,
Those paws will be there to greet me again,
And be with me forever more.

Please keep my hubby in your prayers...he's flying to Norfolk, VA with 4 others from his company on a chartered plane for an all day meeting. He is going up and back tomorrow but I'm uneasy over the private charter.

In less than an hour I will be leaving for a month for some training for my job. I'll get to come home on the weekends but I won't have much if any access to the internet during the week. Please keep me in your prayers as I travel along I-75 twice a week and that I successfully pass this course because if I don't then I will lose my job! And keep my kids in your prayers so that they don't drive my mom crazy while I am gone!
