Poly could also mean that they saw one cyst with more than one segment. The large growth I had on my ovary was like that, with some segments solid, some clear fluid, and some bloody fluid.[:o] When does your pain start and when does it end...generally? I'd keep a log of that and also somehow note the intensity each day, so you have something to look back on if/when you go back to the doctor. I would also hesitate to use the bc pills. IMO/E, in a situation like this, they can mask the problem without fixing it. With my first "issue" like this, we waited a few months to see what the growth would do. It grew to the size of a pineapple before it was removed, and that ovary along with a bunch of endometriosis, which isn't seen by ultrasound. Tylenol is useless for this kind of pain. You need an anti-inflammatory, like ibuprofen. You can take 800 mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours (the rule is no more than 100 mg/hr) or 600 mg every 6 hours. I never tried Aleve, but I don't think it's really best for that kind of pain either.
