You know, it just dawned on me that I named my latest new thread in SG (have to start a new one every month) Kerrlaw's Cooler. I apologize for stealing the name from you wintery, it was unconscious (or would that be subconscious?). I hate it when I do that. I once apparently stole a quote from another poster (I thought that I had stolen it from a local newspaper columnist) and I felt bad for days. Anyway, it will be be gone in a month.

To facebook or not to facebook was the question. I wanted to look around over there but you can't really see anything without being a member. However two things did influence me to go ahead with a facebook page...something I had hesitated to do for a couple of reasons...one, reports of a virus or viral program on the site...another, the fact that's it is so restrictive that you cannot freely view another's page without already friending them. So what influenced me to go ahead? Some of you were talking about it and using pieces of flair for your avatars, and then Fox and Friends hosts began encouraging viewers to friend them on Facebook. So it didn't sound as drab as I had thought. I got bored with MySpace long ago but at least it's searchable and you can see the pages and who the members are. Here's an example. On MySpace I found a friend I haven't seen in years by searching for the name and then painstakingly examining the results until I found him on the seventeenth page. I have already found a couple of ways to search on Facebook and have found a couple of people this way--they don't know it yet. My poor Myspace blog rots away waiting on another recipe or round of wisdom. I haven't been in the mood for blogspot.com lately. So I guess I'll find relief from boredom searching the apps on facebook for a while. That is, when I'm not conversing with you fine old folks on this site.

I'm just getting started on my facebook page--so to speak. I've accumulated about seven friends, written on a wall and taken a survey, and have a few photos. Every time I look at an app I have to wonder if it is safe (non-viral). I made my "wintery button" by borrowing a flair button someone used as their avatar here and re-doing it in Microsoft Paint. There are so many apps to explore at Facebook it may be a while before I get bored over there.

I don't how to do things over there, but someone who does could start a Lion's Den Friends or Crosswalk Friends group...we could join under real names and not reveal our Crosswalk names! (or could, if we want)

LOL ... there is already a group called "Faith Community Network Members" ... which seems to keep losing members. (The person who started that group -- or at least, the person in charge right now -- is Tricia ... aka ta_mosquito) Would you like me to start a "Friends of the Den" group?? I can set it up any way you'd like.

armydude! Trying to be nice, are you? No that was dumb, I own up to it. Also I just tore my shirt sleeve on a nail in the doorframe of this building I work in. Now I look dumb physically as well as online.

I am on Myspace and have been there for a long while now. Just joined Facebook more recently, it seems to be far more user friendly and you can add to your friends a lot quicker. The only thing is that it doesn't use handle names at all and uses your full name instead. That becomes how much do you trust people type of thing.

I checked my MySpace page and one of my friends is wanting me to get into some kind of online game over there. The superpoke thing is fairly simple and fun. I may not be looking at it right because updates are slow. I can go to a friend's page and see where I've been poked but not receive it in notifications for a long time.

Subway can be good...quite good...when done right. There is a little Subway free-standing store across the bridge. A nice Christian lady is owner/manager there and they do a fantastic job! I have spoken with her about the fact that her food is better than other Subways. She said I'm not the only one who has said it, and she doesn't know why that would be since it's supposed to be the same truck bringing the same things to each store. I would venture to say that she probably won't sell stale veggies, selects a good crew and trains them well, is very clean and takes care of the food. Probably all of that and then Someone is blessing her. It really tastes better at that one.

I have finally got back to my "blog" here where I can continue to talk about sandwiches. Just in case anyone actually reads this, yes, I'm this stubborn to stick on a theme for days. I've been talking about Subway and want to move on to: Making one's own sandwich!! There's not a lot to it for people who accustomed to taking care of themselves but there are those who think food is something handed to them in a lunch line, drive-through or by their mother, and those folks have difficulty with the concept of purchasing ingredients for even a sandwich. I've looked for old recipe blogs and found I have deleted some, who knows why, but I found one I wrote about 16 months ago, regarding steak sandwich tips. Maybe it will help the food-preparation challenged, or merely be amusing in its own right. Hey, I'm blogging for the bored here!---------------------------------- Thinking of Steak Sandwiches It's been a hot and trying day. Sometimes on those days, happy thoughts are hard to find. Not today. Today I keep on thinking of steak sandwiches. So here's what I'm thinking. Don't cheap out on the sauce unless you have to. KC Masterpiece or Bullseye is a requirement on my dream steak sandwich. I cook it first, _on_ the steak while it's cooking. I love to overcook the sauce for a burnt sort of flavor. Then after I cut the steak into strips and place on a delicious toasted bun, pickles, lettuce and/or tomato optional, I drown it in yet more primo sauce. It's all about flavor. Oh yes, taste and smell the luxury! So, are you hungry yet? ===wintery
