But did Gramps ever say he was using his real photo for the avatar with the ? mark?????

I believe he said it was not a photo of himself. I think I remember him posting he did't even know who the photo was that someone else (maybe Adam Edwards) picked out the photo and fixed it for him. I am not even sure Adam knows who he is.

So there goes the Doyle Lawson theory...the picture is probably Doyle but Amerigrandpa isn't...is that what you're implying???

Alright white folks. Here's the deal. You can guess all you want but if you will come up with enough money I will tell you who the man is. Remember while I can be bought I am not cheap.
How about a lovely brand new spacious yurt?

Big Chief, if you had everyone make their offers thru PM's and swear them to secrecy and tell them thru PM's, you could make a killing.

Note to "Big Chief:" If you're going to solicit bribery don't do it on a public message board!! (especially with people like me around who are getting ready to take a Criminal Law Final next week)

Okay...I had to google that...slow day in the brain action...I must say...I think I will pass but will have to see if Big Chief likes it or not.

I thought "yurt" was southern speak for "yacht."

Not if S-M was speaking it!!! Google it...it is nice and spacious but don't think I want one unless I build it on the beach.

YURTS

Originally, it's an ancient housing structure of nomadic Central Asian people

It's also housing for certain Indian tribes . . . and since BigChief and his Dawg are Indians, I keep trying to get him to consider living in a yurt.

BTW, in Kelly, WY (a few miles north of Jackson), there is an actual yurt village where people really do live in yurts.

I, for one, would love it!

I am checking back to see if I have received any valid offers. A meal is not going to get you any information. A yurt. Pretty lady we have discussed that before. It is more appealing than a meal but will still not get it.

Youngartist I read your note also. I must tell you Amerigrandpa and I share some of the same characteristics so I am not to worried. You don't know who I am.

But I do my friend. If there is any money to be made in selling information maybe I can make some of it also.

Hello everyone. It looks like enough results are in that we can call this poll. I will announce my identity at the Forums gathering, or if for whatever reason I have another commitment come up, I will transmit a letter which one of you can read aloud.

I did not send Adam my picture; he found a picture somewhere. I am not saying whether the picture he used is of me or whether he is one of the three who knows.

My apologies to those of you who were out-voted. As long as QTman doesn't reveal my friend BigChief's identity, at least there will be some mystery left on the boards once my questionmark is replaced with a smile.

How about . . . a great meal IN a yurt!

Oooh! I could also throw in a pound or two of 100% Kona. Some of the posters around here have been recipients of such exquisite beans, and they all seem to really like it.
