Kooks -> God's rejection of Cain's offering. (7/3/2008 8:23:54 AM)

Genesis 4:5 But on Cain and his offering, He did not. My question is this: why did God reject the offering of Cain in favour of the offering made by Abel? Genesis 4:7 'If you do well, you can hold up your head; but if not, sin is a demon lurking at the door: his urge is towards you, yet you can be his master. Does this discussion of Cain doing well indicate that he did not do so previously or is it merely a general warning given by God to Cain regarding his jealousy over God's favouring of Abel's offering? Also, why would God openly favour Abel over Cain when He is the God of both and the All-Loving Creator? What is the meaning of this episode? I really appreciate any comment as I truly do not understand this message.....
