Kath, are you implying that I'm contentious? I don't know what would ever give you that idea. I like to come here from time to time where I can laugh at the offensiveness. Thanks, BTW

Nah, you're not. But for some reason those threads just call out your name.

I like reading your responses. They are very interesting and sometimes even informative. :)

At the risk of offending everyone... Oh, nevermind. It would turn into another one stop thread.

I'm offended that you don't feel you can be offensive in this offensive thread. Afterall, that's why we're all here - to be offended.

I was going to comment on Memaw's comment about the womens and parenting folders. But, I'd offend all the women and then they'd offend me for being so offensive. And then they'd tell me what I really think! Then we'd all be offended for being so offensive. My only defense at this time is to punt and put you all on the offense.

That actually was my comment, Zamdad...I'm a woman and you really couldn't offend me any more than I've been offended in those two folders, so feel free to fire away!

I'll join you in that offense! I was just praying about that very issue today.

I'll also piggy-back on Memaw's offense. I'm offended terribly by the "Mommy Wars." I'm a pretty regular poster in the Baby Chat thread in the newly created "Maternity Ward." I like having a spot where I can share difficulties with my kiddos and the cute stuff they do, but every few months the "Mommy Wars" flare back up and it's so disappointing. I don't share my opinions on other's choices unless they specifically ask me or I really think they are doing something to endanger their child- and I've never felt that any one was endangering their child, so that reason hasn't applied yet. I just don't understand why as mom's we can't just support other moms even if it isn't the choice WE'D make. I really think it boils down to insecurity.

I just recently found out that I offended someone in the family 9 yrs ago. Although I have never heard it discussed before till now.

I made a comment about something else, and they ordered me out of the house. I havent been back. All this goes back to the thing 9 yrs ago.

I really dont know what to do now. I sent a simple card in the mail to the new daughter in law I had, that just had a miscarriage. She said I said something in the note that accused her of doing something to cause it. My gosh I would have never done that.

Now the rift isnt mended. I am still not allowed in her house. Consequently when my husband goes out of town to see his kids I cant go with him.

There have been two other occasions where she has taken something I said and completely distorted it, repeated it and makes me look very bad. I think she has a problem, yet she is trying to make everyone think it is me.

I am at a loss to know what to do. To call her to apologize would just open up her an opportunity to rake me over the coals. I dont believe that would solve the problem.

I am at a loss.

I get irked (another term for offended ) by the younger group of parents who think we older parents have NOTHING to offer.
It's everywhere anymore, how badly we parented, how we didn't know what they know now, how those "old wives tales" are harmful, blah blah blah.
Well, y'all survived didn't ya?

[soapbox] I get offended by that as well ... and I'm not classed as an older parent -- yet!! I'm offended by most in my generation dismissing the wisdom of previous generations ... and even moreso by this generation blaming the previous generations for all which has gone wrong in this world. I mean, hello -- 20 years ago most people ate the majority of food at home and very few used cellular phones. What are some of the major items clogging our landfills right now?? The waste products from this "microwave" generation's "need" for convenience, which really ends up as an incovenience!!! [/soapbox]

I'm also offended by the people who think colour, favour and flavour are all spelled incorrectly!!! You need to use the "u" people!!! And doughnut is not spelled donut ... I mean, when you are baking -- do you use dough or do???

And I won't be getting them on anyone's treadmill either. Treadmills are offensive.

Unless you have a 5 year old and want to entertain him for an hour or so ... first he'll watch it go round and round for 20 minutes -- then he gets on it and sees if he can run faster than it can!! LOL (My sister-in-law has one -- I don't -- but that's what my kids and her kids do for fun!)

Treadmills offend me as well. Why would you want to run for 30 minutes and only be able to stare at the inside of you house. Of course, I offend people because I don't have a treadmill for this reason. I'd rather run in the rain, snow and ice. I even have ice-grippers for my shoes. I'm offensive like that.

Treadmills are awesome, you get to watch tv and get a workout in.

Ice, snow and the dark offend me. So do people that almost run people over with their cars.

Kristin needs to pull them over when they hand her the keys

I think we have a treadmill under a pile of laundry. I know we have one. My wife made me buy one for her. See, she tells me what I think. She said I think I want a treadmill. So I bought her one.

It's on the sun porch. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

I am offended that padded bike shorts still don't have enough padding for a long ride and I'm offended that sitting all day in my office tomorrow will probably be uncomfortable.
