Work related breaches and wireless breaches are common and sometimes require the services of an IT Security Professional. Is it considered a security breach of you leave the front door open with a big welcome sign hanging over it?

I set up a publicly available anonymous ftp server on my home computer once; somebody found it and started using it to store/transfer their own stuff. In doing so, they created a bunch of folders with weird filenames that were very difficult to delete. I forget exactly how I got rid of them, but it took a while.
