Wow Garcy one kid!!! I have all three, but we had a storm yesterday so they were out in the yard picking up the tree branches that fell all over the yard while I pulled and sprayed weeds. I went through a gallon of roundup. My yard needs desperate help. There are weeds all over the place, plus baby trees growing up against the house that apparently have been there long enough to form some deep roots, and dead bushes, I could go on, but hopefully tomorrow, I will have enough cleared to see what is really there, what can be saved, and what needs to go. They were not happy about picking up the branches, but they did it. Now I have to clean my house and get dinner started.

ORIGINAL: garsyt Ahhahahahahahah!!!!!!! Just found out that there are 5 part-time aide positions open for kindergarten aides in our districts school in 3 buildings!!!!! Two of the positions are in the school Zoe, Ethan and Aryn are in!! The deal is that they are very part time - only 3-40 minute sessions a week or two hours a week. I could easily fullfill the duties for BOTH kindergarten teachers and still be consider very part time! I called immediately and got my application sent over to the school and hopefully I'll get a phone call in the next few days! This is MY JOB! MINE! Please, please, please pray that it all works out! Blessings, Garsy Praying here!

Hi Everybody! It seems so quiet in here. I just thought I would pop in and say hi though. I am thinking of everybody and hope that you all post soon with good news on jobs, health and kids! It is dark and rainy here, but not as bad as what it was supposed to be. We did have a flood watch and more floods are not what we need so I am thankful for that not happening. The heat has broken so I turned off my air and opened my windows. We have overhangs so it has to rain pretty hard for the water to get in. It is damp outside, but I can't see running the air and wasting all that energy and money when we can just open the windows. We got some good news today. We have 6 trees in and in front of our yard that are all in desperate need of major trimming. We can do some ourselves but not the huge old trees. So this morning, some guys were cutting and trimming trees across the street. I approached them and they turned out to be working on the side, but they do work for a forestry dept. in the area and they quoted me only $400.00 to take care of all 6 trees. So now we don't have to buy or rent the chainsaw and the thing that you prune with and they will take care of all of them. And they are professional so they can make them look nice too.

Wow, I didn't know that migranes can cause scars on your brain. I get migranes a few times a year and I would be very happy to not have that happen. When I get them, I am out and I have to have my DH stay home with the kids, or find somebody to take them because I can't even stand and open my eyes in light. I am glad they didn't find anything bad though. I was worried when you said you were seeing a neurologist, but I didn't know you had problems to begin with. I am sorry you feel so bad though. I didn't sleep much last night so getting myself going today has also been hard. But I did get to the grocery store and straighten up the house a bit. It still needs more, but I am better at doing the house things during the week when DH is at work. I don't know why but just his being here makes me lazy. He pressure washed our deck today and we found out that the wood underneath all the gunk is actually pretty nice. I was going to sand it down during the week before I stained and sealed it, but then I got to thinking that since it is as old as it is, the wood may have aresenic in it. Now I think I am just going to scrap any loose wood and then stain and seal. They didn't stop selling arsenic treated wood until like 2003 or 2005 and this wood is at least 10 years old and seems to have never been washed or sealed so I think that alot of the bad chemicals have been drawn out, but at the same time, I dont want to take any chances.

He sometimes helps and then complains or sleeps in the living room and I can't clean. He works the midnight shift so he is around all day long. quote:

Yep, I don't know what made me even think about it, but I am glad I did because I was going to start sanding down the deck tomorrow. I just remembered watching a tv show on one of the discovery or lifetime channels where this guy was building a house and was sick and almost died. It took them forever to figure it out, but it turned out that all of his wood he was using to build the house was arsenic treated and he was breathing in the chemical everytime he would saw or sand something. He didn't die, but he did have to stop building his home and since he didn't have the money to properly dispose of any of the wood and replace it and start the building process all over, he lost all of that. How sad is that? Anyway, the wood looks really nice and I did convince hubby that sanding is not a good idea so we are going to scrape a few spots, but tomorrow I am shopping for the stain and then Tuesday I will start staining. After that it gets a sealant coat and then I can FINALLY put out my patio set which is still in its boxes from when we moved in. I can't wait.

Hey everyone! Blasted lawnmower won't start for me so I'm done mowing for the night. It does that. You get it started once and if you stop before your done it won't start again for awhile, maybe into the next day. I don't know what the problem is. But the neighbor came by to talk about the storm that went through at about 6AM this morning. Another week of Zoo work for Ty. We are taking him in tomorrow morning as tomorrow is the Zoo member picnic so we'll take that in as well. Then he is spending the week with the same friend of ours that he spent the week with last week. Then the kids and I won't have to be spending our entire week in town again. Ty did so well with this last week that our friend invited him back for another week and Ty really wants to do it again. I think Ty enjoyed the freedom and responsibility. I need to call the electric company and have them come check our meter box. We had a lighting strike REALLY close to us last night. The light of it woke us up before the noise! got to run zoe cut her hand. now typing one handed. bye, Garsy

Wow Garcy, lots going on. Sorry about the lawnmower. Mine broke, but we were unable to save it and DH was not too happy with me since I am the one who did it. I didn't mean to, but we have this tree and the people before us planted some creeping ivy type thing around it and it was taking over the yard. So I decided to cut it down and then I was going to spary it to kill it. Well, the reason they planted the ivy was becuse the tree roots were above the ground and they didn't like the way it looked. I didn't know that because I couldn't see them, and since the yard is very uneven, I didn't know I was going over very large tree roots until the lawnmower died and I looked down. oops. How bad did Zoe cut her hand? Not too bad I hope. Do you have electricity? I am sure that if you do and they notice your meter isn't charging it, they will find you pretty quick. If not, it will take a call from you. They don't usually see things as important unless they are making money.

Well I got it taped up but I think I might have to take her in based on what the on-call dr. says. I'm waiting to hear from him now. It's just that she is so blasted active that I don't know if just taping it is going to do the trick. The funny thing about the storm was that we did lose power but only to certain areas of our home. We didn't have any power upstairs, in our garage, and our AC was out. We were able to reset the breakers and the meter box is working but it has a small black spot on it. I guess we'll see what they say. Doc just called - She wants me to take her in. More later. Blessings, Garsy

Hi all, I just wanted to check in I may not be around much next week. But first this weeks stories. Little ones finished summer school on Wednesday. Their teacher was challenging but I think it helped them a lot. Jessica is back from Jr. High camp. She's become really close to the girls in her grade and a natural leader to the younger ones. My class was suppose to finish the classroom part on Thursday, but I still need to make up some skills so I will have to be there tomorrow. Then it's off to my internship site. I'll be working in a pediatric clinic which is connected to the county hospital, it serves uninsured and Medi-cal patients. I met my supervisor and she seems very supportive and they are glad for the extra help. Dh is at the Emergency room right now. He has this horrible sore that is infected and very painful. Our family doctor said it was an infected spider bite but it has only gotten worse. I found out today that our neighbor and her daughter had MRSA. If you don't know that is a form of the staph virus that is resistant to most broad spectrum antibiotics. Usually it has to be treated with a coctail of antibiotics over several weeks. I'm worried that he might have to be hospitalized. So that is why I may not be on much next week. Garsy, I hope Zoe's hand recovers quickly, you were smart to take her in. Better to have it looked at than to wait. I'm glad she didn't have the stitches, that dermabond is great. Kath, did the dr. give you anything for the migrains? I'm glad the tests didn't show any new problems. My love to you all. Kim Q

Hi all! Kim, I hope there is an easy fix for your hubby. Let us know how he is if you get a spare minute. Kath, it's good to see you on here more again. We were in Kansas City for a few days last week. It was fun. Yesterday N, age ten, was acting terrible. I'm not sure why. He was much better today, thank goodness. He even gets computer privileges back tomorrow. E is back at camp for three more weeks. K goes on a trip with some of the youth this weekend. K found out today that one of her two best friends is moving this week or next. Dee

I'm glad he is behaving today. :) Linz has been painting her room. I'll post pictures when she is done. I helped a bit but she is doing most of the work herself and doing pretty well.

I'm not really sure how hot it was Kath, probably the lower 90s. So it could have been worse. We stayed in a KOA Kamping Kabin so we had AC. Accuweather has some days in the upper 90s and 100+ coming up so I think I'm glad we went when we did. Friday was a bit cooler, it sprinkled. We were at World's of Fun for a day and it was hot, but we did end up riding some water rides so that helped. It was OK again by evening. Today was very hot, but I still didn't let the Jehovah's Witnesses in that stopped by inside. The lady is very nice, but I need to tell her that she needs to quit dropping by. What color is Linz painting her room? Good for her for doing it herself! Dee

The brown is almost the color of her closet and room door, so it matches really nicely. She has darker blue/green bedspread and curtains and bought brown and dark blue/green pillows. quote:

That sounds very pretty Kath! Will be awaiting the pics! Not answering the door sounds good, but she'd probably know I was home because the kids tend to get a little loud sometimes when the doorbell rings. Good night! Dee
