Do you have a particular favourite book in the Bible and why is it your favourite?

Probably the psalms because they are my prayers, my heart cries to God.

I love Paul's writings. I love the gospel of John. I love Peter's writing. And I love Isaiah, Malachi, and on and on and on. . .

It is all about Jesus and I love Him!

The Book of Acts without a doubt.

It has sufficient information for a person to be saved and to serve God.

It gives instruction on planting and doing Church.

It is jus a great book in my opinion.

If I were going back on the mission field and could only take one book Acts would be it.

Thanks

The Gospel of John.

Because John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, never left Him, even up to His crucifixion. John, I believe, understood the divinity of Jesus more than the other synopnic Gospel writers, and his Gospel bears this out.

Mine is Psalms. I find every emotion and situation in this book, and I can so often identify.

My heartbeat is Psalm 37... this one has brought me through so many trials... so many storms, as stood upon those promises.

I really don't have a favorite book but mainly passage from one. Like Romans 8:28, Psalms 51, Acts 11, most of Gospel of John and the one verse that has gotten me through most of my life is: If you have faith like that of a mustard seed, you can move mountains.

These have truly sustain me and I praise God for them

I like Proverbs and Acts best.

I like psalms and proverbs the best since they are full of clever words of wisdom.

James.

Not only is it my name....[:D]...it is straight forward and preaches the gospel with...gusto.

Ditto on James, I'm a masochist when it comes to spiritual growth. I like being reprimanded because it gives me something to do. And when I go -looking- for something, it definitely comes up.

with gusto, I might add. hoho.

I love the Psalms. The Psalms echo so many of our feelings, failings, fears as well as well as the many positive emotions we each face in so many different circumstances of life. The Psalmists are really no different from you and I and this is evident from this great book. If I'm not sure where to read in my Bible at any given time, I always turn to the Psalms and am encouraged therein so often.

I once heard someone say: "A Psalm a day keeps the devil away!"

I also love the book of Acts - this book is for me the Holy Spirit coming to dwell in the hearts of those who have accepted Christ's atoning sacrifice. The beginning of a new age...... God in us the hope of glory!

I don't have any favorites. The whole Bible is a treasure to me and everyday I discover something precious in it.

Praise the Lord! [:D]

I must also say Job.

When I started reading the bible I began with Genesis. Now I always did believe that good things happen to good people and bad things happened to bad people and the bible to that point seemed to agree with that phillosophy.

Job was an eye opener. If God can be defined in human terms, the book of Job describes how He is...undescribale and gives us invaluable insight into His nature.

The first time I studied the Book of Job was when I was in college and it opened my eyes to the fact that you can suffer bang in the centre of God's will. Also that NOTHING can touch our lives unless God has first permitted it. Hallelujah! He knows best.

I love Esther. It's her story that taught me about submitting my life to Christ.

Revelations. It has a very cool ending. I like to jump to the ending anyway... plus it has'nt happened and it will.
