I figured my post would be confusing. I meant that you could lock the door between your room and his and then he would have to exit and enter his room through the bathroom.
The doors I was thinking of bungeeing together are the ones that go from your room to the bathroom and your room to his room. That way if he tried to open either one it would slow him down enough that you would hear him coming...especially if you also used a jam in the door between your bedroom and bathroom and the door from your bedroom and his room.

My dogs take benadryl everyday for their skin allergies & it doesn't calm them down at all. Well, Stoli is generally calm anyway, so I'll say it doesn't calm Staci down at all! 
We had a nice relaxing 4th of July! We didn't go anywhere, stayed in our pajamas until lunchtime, played board games, watched a movie & grilled out steak for dinner! We didn't even try to go to fireworks because none of us felt like fighting a crowd. Dd was still feeling yucky (she had a slight fever & diarrhea), ds was still draining & coughing & dh and I were both sore. Dh passed his PT test on Wednesday!!! He had to walk 3.5 miles in 40 some minutes & did it in 38! But he was pretty sore afterward. With all the yard work I did this week, I am hurting in muscles I forgot I had. I really still need to edge some in the front & spray round up.

Hmmm...that might work. We'll have to experiment...
So you mean instead of locking the door to the bathroom all the time, we'd keep the one to OUR room locked, and then could use a door jam on the bathroom/our room door? I don't think we'd need a bungee then at all. But we would have to make sure his door was shut when we used the bathroom.

Also a good idea. I'll run both by Brian and let him decide which will be best.
My dad is here and he and Brian are working in Nick's new room. We will be sticking insulation and boards over the windows in the winter, to help it stay a bit warmer, but it will be perfect for now. I think Nick is even getting excited about it because he has been helping Daddy and Grandpa clean it up. We'll still need part of the room for storage, mostly of baby stuff, but the room is big and he'll have plenty of room.
When Brian has time and we have money...ha...probably not until winter, IOW...he's going to put shelves in the closet in there, so Nick's clothes can be kept in there also. Until then, they'll stay where they are.

Thanks, Hazel! Jitsu was totally panicked last night- panting, trembling, agitated. Nothing seemed to calm her. We'll try Benadryl next time she goes to the groomers.

Donna, Have you thought about turning Nicks door around so that it opens INTO your room and not his? That way the rubber door jamb would work.
It would require a little work: taking the door off the hinges, removing the hinges from the door frame, digging out the latch filling it in with wood putty, then reassembling everything in the other direction.
I am sure it would be well worth the effort to have both privacy and peace of mind concerning Nick's whereabouts at all times.
You could even rub some of the sawdust left over from chiseling out the new latch on the other side into the hinges. A squeaky hinge is a great security alarm. We make sure all the bedroom doors stay on the "dry" side in this house.

Brian wouldn't do it. Things like that are never simple in an old house...we'd end up having to replace too much to make it worth it. That door has been in the same place for at least 100 years...when the downstairs bathroom/kitchen addition was put on. Nick's room is above the kitchen, so was put on at that same time.
