If it were up to Democrats they'd be in prison. They want OJ justice for terrorists and convictions for our soldiers without a trial.

You know I've noticed that. A good bit of liberal democrats (not all, but a good bit) were oh so quick to insist these poor marines were guilty BEFORE they even went on trial or had charges formerly pressed against them (Murtha would be a good example). But yet when it comes to the poor poor people in Guantanamo, they are innocent until proven guilty. I thought innocent until proven guilty was supposed to go for everyone.

According to the blog it was a technicality of the kind that if this were say a child rapist or a murderer you'd be up in arms over. I agree with this ruling though even though the officer in question when he refused to investigate this like he should tainted the case in favor of the defendants. There is still Staff Sgt. Wuterich to go through. The moral of the story is simple really. When you accidentally and not on purpose kill a bunch of civilians in a conflict don't try and cover it up. Rumors only have their place when there are questions to ask and had these soldiers not tried to cover this up then it looks like they would have been ok because they were following procedures. In the end I believe this is a case where the procedures perhaps didn't work though I'm not convinced that any change is neccessary. Once again though had those involved not tried to cover it up this could have been dealt with a long time ago and no one would have John Murtha to kick around. ; )

The beginning of the whole "cover up" scenario began as soon as the news hit the airwaves. The original press release erroniously stated that the civilians had been killed by some sort of explosion, then when they later found out they were really killed by gunshots, instead of it simply being a mistake made in the initial hurried report, no it had to be a cover up! After that, the reasons for WHY it was a "cover up" just got more and more conveniently twisted to fit what the accusers thought the public would believe more. Hence my outrage that they were ever charged and put on trial in the first place.

To be truthful I learned more about what kind of man Murtha is by his silence on being wrong then I did through the accusations. hear ya on that Sophie. I get sick and tired of how our military gets the shaft. Yes, there are bad apples in the military, I'm not saying it's a perfect organization but it seems that the media and other left-leaning folks want to think the worst of our military even before the evidence presents itself. Guilty charge automatically. It makes me feel better though, knowing that most Americans aren't like this. Murtha...well, this is what I think of him[:'(] Enough said.LOL.

I know the feeling. My bro was deployed in Iraq and when I mentioned (not in this forum, somewhere else) about the good things his unit did, they said that was only one account. It doesn't matter, it's only from one source (and biased one, as it was my own bro) or something stupid like that.[:'(]
