I salt cukes & tomatoes. But even though one of my favorite tastes is sweet and salty together, I just never tried it on melons.

Perhaps you share my affinity for chocolate covered pretzels?

Mrs. K has tried a new recipe a couple of times. You melt two large Hershey bars in a bowl in the microwave, then mix in a can of mixed nuts. Spread on wax paper on a cookie sheet and let harden.
I was having a major chocolate craving earlier . . . so I melted butter (real, unsalted) with some raw sugar and added a splash of coconut milk and some dark cocoa powder. When it was warm and thoroughly mixed together, I added raisins, raw, unsalted pistachios and raw coconut flakes. I let it cool a bit to thicken it, and then I ate it with a spoon.

It was very tasty.

This is a new thing with me . . . I've only done it one other time and I think that was last week.

Or call me and I will rent you a cabin. That is good room and board.

Santa, I want you to know that I do my part promoting the cabins. I have told several co-workers about them and given them the link. They have been quite impressed and plan to check it out should they go that way. One has been to that "area" several times in the past.

We used to make our ice cream on Sundays when I was a kid. Salted cantelope, salt watermelon only if it is not ripe enough to have the zippy flavor.

Love pretzels covered with chocolate!

Would not want peanuts in my soda.

Congrats Courdeleon on the Room & Board quote!

Cubs whooped the Brewers yesterday. Just thought I would let Christi and Bill know that I thought of them when I heard the news. Lynn too? I all of a sudden am drawing a blank... but I thought Lynn likes the Cubs too?

Okay that's it for now.

Grandsons were in Las Angeles on a field trip when the earthquake hit.

They are fine. Didn't even remember it today.

The View this morning showed a video from Judge Judy taping her show when the earthquake hit, she took off, the litigants just stood there. Apparently they have never been through a quake. I hope they actually show it but I bet not.

Was actually discussing that very thing with my supervisor today as she was telling me what weeks she will be gone. I can't be gone when she is gone. She is going to be gone near the time that you all had the meet and eat last year in the fall. But you never know what can happen.

Kerr, I forgot to say in my last post that I am so glad that your grandchildren were okay.

I do share that affinity and love chocolate covered nuts as well. When I make candy for Christmas I always make chocolate covered pretzels, peanut clusters and caramel/cashew clusters. Good stuff!

Thank you for the congrats, Awed!

Morning, folks. This is a new place I'll be poking my head into from time to time, okay? I believe some of you know me from other places, some not.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The OP wants questions, so okay -
Kerr, is that your name, Kerr? And are you a lawyer? And why is there a "1" at the end of your handle? Sorry you asked?
One more thing - I've only read this page, I'm not going to try to catch up, so please forgive me if I ask dumb questions about what the rest of you already know, okay? Thanks.
Just don't ask about driving on parkways and parking on driveways... (Daniel usually asks that question...)
Or my favorite. You can't have everything because if you did, where would you put it?
Welcome .Pammy
It's good to have another Sherlock Holmes fan around.
My last name is Kerr and I am a lawyer. I put the 1 after it when I signed up because I used that as a username in other places. I would like to drop the 1, but I heard horror stories about people who changed their handle and lost all their posts. If you or someone else can instruct me how to do it, I will drop the one.
Don't get too comfortable in this thread. Under the new rules chat threads (not in PFY) have to start anew monthly. So look for the newest version tomorrow.
Why do you have a period in front of Pammy?
Thanks for the welcome, Kerr. I'll watch for a new thread. Maybe you can put a link in here.
quote:
Oh, that's sort of interesting. I was "PamelaSue", and I really wanted Pammy. But it said that "Pammy" wasn't available, but when I looked at the list of users, it wasn't there. Over in Singles (where I've been hanging out, although not as much lately as I used to), someone told me that may be because someone with that handle had been banned or something. Which I think is weird, I don't know why they wouldn't throw it back into the pool. Whatever.
Anyway, somebody else suggested using it with a character in front of it, which is what they did. So that's what I did! But you can call me Pammy, Pam, Pamela, yoohoo, heythere, pretty much anything, just not late for dinner! 'Kay?
