I've heard (in the past) a women here at CW say that she would gladly give up the right to vote, if only to be treated like a lady again. I've heard several men here say that a woman has no need to vote, since all adult women are under the authority of either their father or husband, and no woman should vote against the wishes of her male authority. I've never once heard this, ever. Not sure who you're talking to that you've heard this bandied about... I read that in a thread right in this folder with my own two eyes. It's been awhile back, but it was within the last couple of years. Yup, I have read it too. Just read the "women's role in the home" thread[8|] Thanks for the support, Ryanne and Stella. Yes, the woman who would give up the right to vote was a little while ago, but I honestly don't remember the specific name, nor would I care to call her out. Male attitude towards women voting I've seen several times in different areas. quote:
Non-white males are much more prone in today's society to be looked down upon, scorned, and mocked (in tv ads, ect.) because of attitudes and beliefs that they get everything handed to them and don't have to work hard, because they're white. Some minorities may feel that way, but I think you're over exaggerating the situation. Besides, that's still a lot better then being lynched for saying hello to a white girl, or black females having little other career choice then being a domestic servant. Nobody's saying today's world is perfect - it's just much better for women and minorities. Women in the colonial era had no say, no choice. You have the choice to be quiverfull, to stay at home, those women had that forced upon them.
