Hey, Humble! That's interesting about your analyzing radio stations. Does that mean you like marketing or just analyzing in general? I love music too, as you've probably gathered from H & G. There's so much variety in Christian music out there, something for everyone.

I love traveling too. We were going to go to TN to the Smokey Mtns. this summer; but it may be pushed back into the fall. We're thinking the trees will be beautiful that time of year. A change of scenery is always refreshing and lends perspective. I'd love to go to England one day too. Domestically, I'd like to see Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, New York, and Williamsburg. I lived in MD for almost 30 years and I never went to NY! I loved Maine too. Definitely like to go back.

Where would your top places to visit be?

Anyone have ideas on a song to be sung at the wedding? Some have the "Lord's Prayer" sung or a love song. ??

"I will be there for you," is nice.

As for top places to visit, I would love to go to Boston for the historical aspect (and--smile--I would like to see the public gardens because the children's book "Make Way for Ducklings" was centered there!). And then we could see Mike! I would like to go to all of NE for the historical sights!

Me too! I love the New England states! (especially in the fall!) I enjoyed taking pictures when we were in Maine four years ago.

Hey, all you beach lovers... come on in! I saved you a seat.

...And even if you don't like the beach, you are welcome to chime in and "shoot the breeze" with us. All are welcome here, where no one is in a hurry and there's a nice breeze blowing (just enough to take the sting out of the heat).

So, feel free to take a load off and chat about whatever your heart desires. It's the beach... It's relaxing and hopefully somewhat refreshing...

Look forward to sharing my great spot on the beach with you...

Anyone out there trying to lose weight? I'm on a mission. Any tips? Anyone have ideas for great crafts for kids? Anyone want to share about a hobby or job? Whatever's on your mind... let's chat...

Hi There Crazedmom, I have been so behind in my forums reading that I am only getting back to this thread now! I seeing how radio stations compete with one another, and more recently, within the past 10 years or so now how each radio company positions a set of radio stations since they own multiple ones in the same market now.

For example, in my area CBS has 4 FM stations. that spread from Oldies, Classic Rock, Adult Top 40, and Modern Rock. That pretty much spreads across 3 or 4 generations of listeners for them. They also own a News station on the AM also, and occasionally will broadcast sports games on one of their FM's also.

Now that would be really nice to meet you Joy! Maybe we'll meet in Texas sometime too?

Hey there, Humble! Glad you stopped by. I know the summer tends to be a busy time for everyone. I guess there's more to do outside for a lot of people. Of course, here in FL you can pretty much do anything outdoors year round. Anyway, I digress...

Someone asked me about the Lakeland Revival meetings with Todd Bentley, so I wanted to share about that. Probably most of you have heard about these revival services going on. They've moved the venue several times and are now meeting at the airport in Lakeland in one of the hangers. It seats up to 10,000, I think I read. We went when they were having services at The Lakeland Center (the Civic Center there). I think there were about 10,000 people there, and from all over the world. Before we went I did a lot of research online to check it out. There are some videos on youtube and you can watch nightly on godtv on the internet.

Anyway, I went with an open mind and with much prayer. I think many Christians, especially those who have experienced past revivals, have really been praying for God to move again and to see healings and life transformations for the glory of God! Many remember the Brownsville Revival, the Laughter Revival; and, of course, going back to the 60's -- the Kathryn Kulmann meetings where many were healed. My Mom was actually filled with the Holy Spirit in one of her meetings. I believe many are truly hungry to see God send revival and to see an outward demonstration of God's power. So, that's the spirit in which I went to the meeting -- hungry to see God move, prayerful -- not wanting to get caught up in anything that was not of God, and just expectantly trusting God to minister not only to me, but all those who were seeking Him.

As soon as we stepped out of the car, I could feel the power of the Holy Spirit --- in the parking lot! I've been to many services with well known preachers, etc.; but I've never felt the power of God so strong as I did that night. We got inside the civic center and found a seat in one of the upper decks. The praise and worship lasted for hours. It was beautiful! The presence of God was so strong. It was as if His spirit was hovering over the crowd and it was so wonderful to see so many entering into worship. Even my 8 yo son was worshipping God and really paying attention. He sang along with the c.d. we had playing all the way home, which was unusual for him. I believe the Lord really touched him.

I was raised in a large church, of over 3,000 people; but it's been a long time since I've corporately worshipped with so many. It was refreshing! (Florida is made up of many smaller churches. Large ones are rare because the cities are so spread out.) It just brought to mind how the worship in heaven must be like. At one point we were singing over and over again the words, "Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy..." and the presence of God was so vivid! Surely God's heart was moved to hear so many worshipping in one accord.

It was through the times of worship that many were healed. There was no preaching. We went from praise and worship into people going up on stage giving their testimonies. I know many are skeptical and we should carefully judge everything in life. But, I can say that I did not see anything contrary to the Word of God. Nothing strange happened; no one was giving the glory to any man or anyone other than Jesus Christ. He alone received all the glory.

I do know many were healed and if you've been following the revival online, you may know that people have actually been raised from the dead. I think the last count I heard was over 24 people have been raised from the dead with medical proof. People who were healed also provided medical documentation of their healings. The world is skeptical. But, I can tell you that from everything I experienced, I believe the revival is genuine and far reaching.

Todd Bentley said he heard God say that this will be the most transferrable anointing ever. In times past the minister was the one with the anointing; but now is the time for that anointing to be transferred to all believers. I can say that sitting in my living room watching on my laptop, I felt the anointing so strong, just coming through the internet. That should not surprise us really because the power of God is not confined by time or space. God is all powerful and so wants to empower us to do the work of the Kingdom of God. The harvest is truly ripe and it is only through the power and presence of God that we will be able to reach the lost for His glory.

That's my take on the revival. I welcome any questions or dialogue. If you get a chance, watch it online.

Hi Crazedmom, while I have been on forums since Thursday, I am only just catching up to your thread now. Actually, I have been behind in my forums subs, and I use read the next unread subscription feature, which works with the most recent postings first. So since I had been behind and your post was from over a week ago, it was unfortunately at the bottom of the roster.

Anyway, that is really interesting Todd Bentley! I first heard about him in Current Events where they were saying not so good things about him. You have first hand experience though, and it sounds very positive instead! I will have to look more into him.

Anyway, I just thought I'd pop in and say hello! I hope you had a great weekend!

Hey there, Humble! Thanks for stopping by. We had a busy weekend with our big party on Sat. with friends from church; but it was fun. I hope you're feeling better by now.

..."at the bottom of the roster"... Well, at least I was on the roster, huh? That's okay. Life is busy, I know.

Gotta run and take dd to church youth camp now... Write more later... Be blessed!!

Hi Crazedmom! Yes, if I do not clear out all of my subs, the ones with the furthest posts back end up at the bottom, but yes, you are indeed still on my roster. Now if this thread is posted in more often, then...

Having a good weekend? I just got back in from running some errands.

Yes, this thread seems slow, huh? Oh well. It's always nice when friends from H & G pop in to say Hi! :)

I hope dh finishes the lawn soon; so we can head out to dinner. It's getting late! I like to eat around 6p.m. :) The house is rather quiet with just ds here and he's watching cartoons. I'm learning to enjoy the quiet... drinking in every second of it!

Have a great week!

Hi, crazedmom! Where are you going for dinner?
We have had 112 temperatures and it felt cool today at 98!
I have been getting laundry together and relaxing while the washing machine does the hard work. Having a lazy day.
Tomorrow my husband is speaking at church as the pastor will be away at church camp. Not a lot on the docket for this weekend. We will just take it easy and probably not go anywhere except church. The air is pretty bad and with these high temps it's nice to stay home.

Hi, Hisjoy! Glad you dropped in! :)

Wow, that's hot!! I can tell you, it wasn't that hot here. But, it was hot.

Hey, lazy days are some of the best days, huh? I got a pedicure today, which was a nice treat. I think the last one was in Feb.! I'm not a regular, but it's nice every once in a while.

I think we're going to my husband's favorite Chinese restaurant. But, he needs to hurry if we're going! :) I am thankful he's doing the lawn, but hunger pangs call!

I'll be praying you all have a wonderful service tomorrow. That's great. Talk to you soon. :)

Oh CM, btw, I just read your latest blog entry. It came up right after your last posting, which means that you posted that first then posted here right afterwards.

I just made plans this past week to go to Washington DC for a couple of days during my vacation a week after next. It should be nice checking out a couple of the museums, etc.

Also, I hear you about the pace of the city, ironically Boston tends to have a certain frenetic pace, which I hate! When I go on vacation to other places it is usually much mellower, only to be rudely awaken when I return to the city instead!

Oh, have fun in D.C.! There's so much to see and do! I love the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and the American History one, which was closed when we were up for remodeling. It may be open by now. You could check the website. Seeing all of the monuments is neat. I still think they're amazing after living there for most of my life! So much history wrapped up in such a small town! :) I really wanted to go to the National Archives, which is right across the street from the Museum of Natural History; but it would've taken almost two hours to get through the line. There were a lot of bus tours when we were there. The earlier in the day you go is probably the better.

You'll have to share how your trip went. Are you going to Mt. Vernon in VA or just touring D.C.?

Hi CM, I did not know that you grew up there at all, how did you end up relocatiing to Florida?

I plan just to see DC itself as I am only going for a couple of days. I was there back in 1982 and 1996. I didn't really do the city justice back in '96 though as I was working second shift and kept on oversleeping until noon. Since this was in April, most attractions were already filled up by the time I had gotten to them.

I rushed myself through the Air and Space Museum and if I had more time, would have wanted to take it in more casually instead. That is what I plan to do this time. I also plan to see the new International Spy Museum also.

It all should be fun all and all!

I hope that you have a great Sunday also!

Yes, I'm a northerner, which makes relocating to the south a little interesting. Although, Florida isn't like the rest of the south really. There are many transplants here; so much so that I used to wonder if anyone was truly from Florida. But, Florida is very different than the D.C. area!!

My husband put in for a job transfer with the company he was with at the time and he got the job. It was tough to relocate, leaving behind many friends and family (and I was pregnant at the time, which made it even more emotional!) We survived and are better for it, though.

The Air & Space Museum is a must-see, for sure! We were there in April also. The kids liked the astronaut ice cream they sell at the gift shop. I haven't been to the Spy Museum, but it's supposed to be really neat. There's a lot of interactive things there. You'll have a great time, I'm sure! Will you be taking the subway or driving downtown?

You're right! (especially during rush hour) The subway isn't bad there. It's pretty clean too. Will you be taking pictures? This past trip I didn't take any amazing pictures; but the previous one a couple of years ago I did. The architecture of the old buildings in D.C. is so detailed and full of character, so I enjoyed taking pictures of some that. And, of course, of the monuments.

Hi CM, oh my would you believe that this was the very last thread on my forums roster? I do plan on taking pictures, it should be good!

I just read your blog today, so the kids are at camp? Also, you are planning on seeing the Holyland Experience in Orlando too? Cool, and LOL about them being closed on Sunday too!

Very good scripture in your blog also!

Hey there, Humble! Actually, my son got back from camp on Thurs. He had a blast! I'll pick my daughter up from the airport late tonight, as she's been away in CA for over a week.

We went to The Holy Land Experience on Wed. and it was very neat. We'd like to go again and take the kids -- very educational for them too. The live shows and performances are great. It rained quite a bit on Wed., so some of the shows were cancelled.

Have a great week!

Hi! It was interesting to read about Washington DC. I would love to go there again...and again! We were there two days in 1995. The view from the Washington Monument was great. The White House Tour was interesting, and so was seeing the Constitution. Just a few days before we were in Philadelphia looking at the sights there. I love historic America!

Yes, it would be great to see you, Mike! You will be welcome to visit us in Texas! Too bad we couldn't meet earlier this year when you came to CA.

Hey there, Humble. How was your week? I'm doing well. Busy week with running my younger son to Martial Arts Camp this past week. He loved it.

I was also hunting for a dress to wear to my older son's wedding, which was getting a little frustrating going to so many stores and not really finding anything. But, then I finally found something at a bridal shop. The rsvp's are starting to trickle in and we're so excited about the wedding. Judging from verbal responses so far, we should have a good turn out. A number of family and friends are coming in from out of state, so that'll make it very special!

My daughter is a junior bridesmaid, so we ordered her dress this week. She's so happy to be in her "big brother's" wedding. She really looks up to him!

Gearing up for school to start here... I've got to get my head together about lesson planning, etc. But, we're excited! This will be our 11th year of homeschooling. (We homeschooled our older son from 5th grade through 12th. He was dual enrolled at the community college while in high school and did very well. He's just 3 classes short of his AA degree now.)

Between the wedding & school and a few other balls I have juggling in the air... life is pretty busy right now! But, at least it's a GOOD busy!

I know you said you didn't do a whole lot in D.C. Did you see anything at all?
