Yeah, someone noticed

What are Smarties?
My first reaction on reading this was to mail some to ya, but then I figured that you probably wouldn't get them since
1) You've moved and I don't have your new address
2) I know you eat healthy and they aren't particularly healthy so I don't know if you'd eat 'em!
3) They probably wouldn't make it from the store to the PO because I'd probably eat 'em

I've just checked the link FunBetty gave and our Smarties are totally different. Ours have a crisp shell and a chocolate middle.

No wonder you like smarties if yours are chocolate!! Yours sound like M&Ms. The smarties I know of are NOT my choice of a candy!!
BTW, Aga, I noticed your signature, just haven't gotten around to paying you the compliment!

I don't know about better, but definitely different (and yummy!).

My "quirk" (or one of the many ) will probably drive Shar-Mar and Lioness crazy... and any other big readers out there. I read the end of a book first. Even if I don't start by reading the end I can never make it past the middle of the book without reading the ending .

I also read the Sunday newspaper adds from back to front, but that is because usually the stuff I'm looking for (kitchen and household stuff) is in the back!

Gma.
Poor thing; I'll keep you in my prayers.

Quirk: I love refrigerated water. Can't stand ice, though. Also, I drink a glass of water the very first thing when I wake up in the mornings. But that's also the only time that I can't stand cold water, so I get a glass of water from the fridge before I go to bed at night and put it on my nightstand. In the morning, the water is room temperature, and that's what I drink when I wake up.

Thanks Shar-Mar!

I hate "warm" milk. If it is not cold, super cold, I put ice in it.

I'm a compulsive reader; if there are words, I must read them.

I get so frustrated with the "historical landmark" signs around here along roadways. There is no way I can get them read before I'm past them.

Psst, did I use that semi-colon correctly? I'm trying to learn how.

Thanks!

That's one of my quirks; I can't use a semi-colon appropriately.

And my lifelong dream is to master the little bugger.

Lioness:
I found the following on the web. It clarifies why you did the right thing in using the semi-colon in your sentence. In short, you combined two independent clauses to indicate a relationship between them.

"These two clauses could be separate sentences: "Mary drives a Mercedes. Joanne drives a Chevrolet." However, when we use a semi-colon, we are usually suggesting that there is a relationship between the sentences, but we are not making that relationship clear. Usually, you can tell from the context what the relationship is. In the example above, the relationship is probably CONTRAST; we could also use "but" to make this clear: "Mary drives a Mercedes, but Joanne drives a Chevrolet." When we use a semi-colon, it is often because we want to make the reader think about the relationship for herself. This is useful in many situations, such as when writing cautiously, ironically, or humorously."

Can I just say that giving a grammar lesson at 9:24am in not a classroom setting is quirky? And don't correct this grammar I'm too tired to think.

Thanks!
I'll have to be careful in some threads with that 'thinking for themselves' thing.

Quirk time.

While at Disney this past year, I worked on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride for about 6 months. Even after working that ride the entire time, I still have yet to see Pirates III.

Several moons ago I worked at Islands of Adventure (Universal) at Jurassic Park. I had seen the second movie "The Lost World" but after 2 1/2 years of working with the dinosaurs (it was an acting role), I didn't see the first movie until long after working there.

Flip flops year around isn't a quirk - that's a Florida/Texas/Arizona - southeast/west thing. It's a necessity with the heat. Even in the winter when it's cold out - during the day it'll still be warm enough for them, so they are appropriate at all times.

Winter in FL - jeans, sweater, flip flops. And they don't have to just be the ones between your toes - anything that is a slip on qualifies in this respect. But I love true flip flops! LIVED in them for the first 12 years of my life.

Fixed it!

Quirky.........I talk to animals. Not just my dog but other animals as well. As a child whenever things got bad at home I would go to the pasture and talk to the cows.........they knew all my childhood problems.
