melodie -> appropriate gift? (5/14/2008 3:05:37 PM)

I have a really close guy friend who is graduating high school and I can't figure out what to get him. (He doesn't need money.) I want to do something personal; I do some sewing and I would really like to make him something.

He is into music, plays the electric and acoustic guitar, bass, piano, banjo, etc. and sings. He is going to A&M. He's a pretty cool guy, not real preppy, not punk.

I had thought about making him an A&M fleece blanket (not one of the tie ones, i think he might consider it a bit tacky...). Or maybe something to do with music.

So... any ideas on what might be an appropriate gift? Do guys today consider homemade things tacky or thoughtful? Any ideas would be appreciated. Feel free to ask if I can give any more info that would clarify anything.[&:]

Maybe you could make him a guitar strap ?

As a guy, I would consider anything that you put effort into making to be extremely thoughtful... even if it turned out really ugly. lol

Coming from a guitarist, I know I would appreciate that.
