Trish, I don't think you would be selling a potential partner short. Nor would you be a burden to the right person.

My SIL with fibromyalgia is married with two grown boys!!!

Faith, was she single when she was diagnosed?

I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but I think it makes a difference.

Trish, I don't have fibromyalgia and I won't pretend to understand it.

However, as you know, I've had a seizure history that spans 20 years . . . and seizures come with their own unique set of "stuff".

CS witnessed my having MANY seizures before we were married; and he, without question, accepted the responsibility of taking care of me during and immediately following those seizures.

In fact, the first seizure I ever had in front of him was before we even started dating.

One cannot blanket-statement and cubbyhole people and various situations. Some men and some women are not going to want to deal with someone who has a severe illness or disability. However, some men and some women WILL.

It really depends upon the two people involved.

Our Lord's Peace and Joy to you.

I'm not sure when her exact diagnosis came about, Trish. It's been as long as I have known her; however, that's only been just over a year....

Hi. I haven't had a chance to set up my account.
This one question got my attention. I have FMS and a snowball of other illnesses.

But I started an online support group for people with fibro and any chronic pain condition. There is everything from disablity information to just talking about what works and doesn't work for pain. Emotional side, physical side, spiritual as in prayer requests. It's a nice community. If anyone would like to take a look:

http://cloudsonlinesupportgroup.yuku.com/

Prayer requests are frequently asked, there are so many there with a wealth of information. I don't get to post frequently due to my health, but my bio and all is there under PaulaAngel. I do more with the other admin people, but when I am well enough I do go around and add if I can to people's questions.
There are some older articles that are from before we moved and if you see someone by Paula27 as the author, then that was me years ago.
Hope this helps someone.
Take care & blessings!
