This captures the essence of snarkiness, which (at least to me) is to say something that might be a compliment, but on closer examination is really an insult.

Oh my. You've certainly shown your willingness to read the bible with all of those interesting scripture references. Have you given any thought to studying what they actually mean or do you plan to continue adjusting the meaning to fit your own pet theology?

I used to have one that was written in pencil. It had one of those really nice erasers that came with it and everything! 
So...not matter what...it said what I wanted it to say.
