THis is my first post. I am thankful (SO THANKFUL!), to finally see a somewhat positive post about Eckart Tolle's book. I too believe in God and Christ but I also believe there is room for Eckart's teachings too. I think we all need to keep an open mind to possiblities here. THere are many things we can address here but mainly I think the force or energy and the I AM that he talks about is God. The same God that you feel inside of you when you go to church or when you pray, when the holy spirit comes to you, the warm love feeling or energy you feel is available to everyone. After all God is in everything. I dont think anyone questions that here do they? I was taught that in SUnday School. But it seems when people start talking "New Age", which is mostly really ANCIENT teachings, that it is a bad thing to say God lives inside of you. Like arrogant or something. But that is where God dwells; you will find him not going outside of yourself to find Him but to look deep within yourself. Doesn't the bible say God is in us? Our light? I believe this is all one and the same. Father, Son and Holy Spirit alive within us. Many people are blocked from this by fear or trauma- I think this book is about uncovering something that was always there. There are many parts of the Bible that have taken on a more practical meaning to me since reading this book. Things that I can apply and use myself. I remember Jesus saying in one part of the Bible, "this too you shall and do and more" when talkign of miracles. We can find this "Light" within by peeling away our layers of ego and being still. God said, "Be still and that is where you will find me". Not living in the past or future, but truly being present in every moment with every person we encounter. Eckart And Oprah our loving souls who have blessed millions with this program. Lets not forget the great benfactor Oprah is. The millions of hearts she has touched. The millions of dollars she has given to other less fortunate. And, surely we can do better than to say this is a tiring dry book. When I first read this book I felt an immediate connection and energy and yes, I felt God's love. However, you can be blocked by fear, this is a very scary concept to someone who is ruled by fear, if you are not ready it will mean nothing to you. I recommend to all of you who dont seem to "get" this book be clear of mind, be present and ask God to be with you as you read this a second time slowly. This book is a precious gift.[:)]

Welcome to the forums. There's already a thread regarding this book here.

Tolle's beliefs run directly against the teachings of Jesus Christ and the declarations of the Bible.

There's no other way to put this. Poison masked in a neat wrapper.

I agree and i am forever boycotting Oprah after the clip i saw of her saying that this book lead her to believe that god is just a "feeling "

To Say that you agree with the teachings in this book is to say that you are one of two things. You are either lost and without Christ, or you were saved yesterday, and have no idea about the foundations of Faith. This book is a MAJOR pile of Garbage. God does not Dwell inside of you until Chriswt Dwells inside of you. That only Comes when you REPENT of your sin, a word we have forgotten. (Thanks Joel Osteen) There is NOTHING redemptive about this book. Stay away from Oprah and ANYTHING She Promotes. That includes the next President of the United States.
