Let's see................if you make DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands all states, that leaves us still three states short. Guess we're just going to have to conquer three more countries.............. [;)]

If McCain had made the same faux pax, the media would be all over his case saying that he is getting senile. If Barry is pressed to give any thing other than his canned speach he gets agitated. But McCain will not press the guy and challenge him on the issues.

I think making a big deal out of such a little thing is silliness- regardless of which side you are on.

I took my dd to a specialist. I had a big pile of paperwork to fill out. When we met the dr, she looked the papers over and said, "Wow! She was a big baby, huh?" "Uh... yeah, I guess." Almost 9 pounds is pretty big... Well... It turns out instead of 8lb 13 oz, I had written 10 lbs 13 oz! That si REALLY big!

All of us make little errors like this all the time- listening to him he obviously slipped and said 57 instead of 47... and it doesn't appear he really thinks there are 60 states (which is how the math works out fromt he speech).

I am grateful to not have cameras recording everything I say- cause we could be laughing all day on that!

In the original movie "The Manchurian Candidate", the character that wanted to become President couldn't remember how many "Communists" he had claimed were in the Congress of the United States, so to remember, he chose the number "57". He got the number from a bottle of Heinz Ketchup.

Another one of those things that make you go, "hmmmmmmmm."

Saudi execution number 57
Happened a few days ago:
A Saudi national was beheaded by the sword on Sunday after being convicted of killing a compatriot, the interior ministry said.
Eid bin Hajmahuj al-Shimari was found guilty of shooting dead Ghoneim bin Shoshan al-Shimari with a machine-gun, it said in a statement carried by the SPA state news agency.
He was executed in the northern town of Arar near the border with Iraq.

Now I will be fair, because I am often a ding-bat, though I am not running for President. (LOL) If I am tired I get really goofy and will laugh at the most bizzare unfunny things, so anyone ( well me) could do that. Did he visit one state more than once? I will be fair, it is the Christian thing to do.[;)]

I did research on 57 islamic states ... could it be? I'm still trying to figure out what it is about this man that people find so wonderful. When the J. Wright appeared on the scene Barack lied about him. Uninvited Wright to speak when Obama announced his bid for the White House ... why? Because of his mouth!! Those are Obama's words! Then he says he wasn't aware of Wright's mouth! C'mon, where have peoples' common sense gone? Obama's attending the Nation of Islam's Million Man March. What was that all about?? And yet, people are still fawning over him. Now, his statement about visiting 57 states. People still fawn. Someone wants Barack Hussein Obama in the White House really bad!!

This thread is funny. lol

On another note, Bin Laden can't be the anti-christ, hardly anyone likes the guy. Based on my understanding of the scriptures there, the anti-christ will be widely liked and do alot of good for alot of people before he is exposed and all of that good stuff. That would make it pretty tough for Bin Laden. Not so tough for Obama... He hasn't really done anything for people to NOT like yet.....

I love this, the same people who wanted to crucify Dan Quayle for misspelling "potato" are screaming that we should just cut Obama some slack for the 57 states comment.

A dumb comment is a dumb comment, no matter which side of the aisle it is birthed on....Barack should get just as much ribbing as lil' Danny Quayle did.....
