I forgot to mention, I loved all three Spider Man movies. They would make great date films imo. [sm=angelhalo.gif]

Would Lion, Whitch and Wardrobe be a really cheesy date movie? Depends on the age of the couple, I guess. My hubby and I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies. During our showing of Return of the King, a woman actually had an epileptic seizure. She was fine, but a little embarrassed, 'cause of course the theater called the EMT's.

We told her not to worry, everyone needed a bathroom break during that movie!

LOL....that's nice of you guys to insert humor and compassion into that situation. I was once in a crowded theatre (jam packed to the brim) and a guy fell down the isle and rolled over a few times and rather than help him, the ENTIRE theatre (or it seemd most people) laughed hilariously and the guy was so embarassed he ran out of there. [sm=icon_smile_sad.gif] ...Good thing his leg was ok to run after the fall, but still...he was embarassed.

LOTR? ...not bad, but a bit long for a date movie for me. I do like the Narnia movies, but not much romance in them. I guess in a way these Christian-themed movies are good for dates over the secular romance films that have unnecessary sex and lust, etc. [:)]

Any movie that makes us think and have an all night discussion. We love those. Now we love a good comedy.

BTW, the Notebook was really good. My DH rented it one time then called me to tell me about it. So one night we stayed in to watch that one.

we also liked 'radio" but I think that's an old one by now...haven't seen any good ones lately...so hope this thread offers some ideas.

I have a lot but I right now I can think of The Ring, The Grudge and The Others...scary movies but no gore and I had my eyes closed most of the time and grabbing hubby's arms [:D]

One time I took a girl out to dinner and she wanted to see a movie afterwards. We weren't dating, but I certainly wasn't opposed to spending more time w/ her. We ended up seeing "The Break-up" with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.

NOT the best choice for a "date movie". [;)] Ha! Ha!

We had a good time, though. We had a good discussion afterwards because we both had different interpretations of how the movie ended. (My view was more cynical...they wouldn't get back together. She thought the ending implied they WOULD get back together. As long as there isn't a sequel, I'm cool w/ any viewpoint.)

mapachito13 -> RE: What are Best Date Movies You've Had with Spouse/Partner? (5/21/2008 7:46:12 AM)

"No Reservations" with Catherine Zeta-Jones. Tear jerker and romantic all at the same time. "French Kiss" with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline, the best romantic comedy ever!

angie4God -> RE: What are Best Date Movies You've Had with Spouse/Partner? (5/23/2008 11:57:07 AM)

I'd have to say our first date [;)]

Disney's Hercules

We are both fans of Disney animated movies so it made a perfect movie to see. We still love the movie. And now so does our 5 y/o DD [:)]

MisterTR -> RE: What are Best Date Movies You've Had with Spouse/Partner? (5/23/2008 10:56:09 PM)

I was thinking that Penny Serenade with Cary Grant and Irene Dunn (I think) is a great romantic date movie. But it was the first movie I watched with my wife, which probably makes me biased in my opinion.

car2ner -> RE: What are Best Date Movies You've Had with Spouse/Partner? (5/28/2008 6:06:19 PM)

Prince Caspian because my m'love knew I'd want to see it on opening night. Alas, there were alot of giggly girls there but they quieted down when the movie started. Otherwise we wait to see movies on cable or the dollar theater.

When we got home we poured some wine and watched the witch, lion and wardrobe snuggling on the couch.

trumpeter4Jesus -> RE: What are Best Date Movies You've Had with Spouse/Partner? (6/2/2008 10:45:06 PM)

My wife and I still laugh about this one. On our first date we planned to see "Anastasia", the Disney movie, but when we got to the movie theater we had the wrong show time, so we looked at the board for something else. We decided to see "Star Ship Troopers". If you have seen this (dare I say it) movie you can understand why we laugh about it ten years later. It was the worse movie I have ever seen in the movie theater, and we sat through the whole thing!

GrapeApe -> RE: What are Best Date Movies You've Had with Spouse/Partner? (6/3/2008 2:36:32 AM)

Prince Caspian. Merely because it's the first movie we seen together. It was a good film itself, but it meant all the more with her.

now that is funny. I can't even sit through it at home...

M'love and I went to the theater on a very quiet day. We were waiting for the show to start and had the liberty to wander the hall. We popped our head into other theaters that where showing a horror movie. Wow, I was glad we didn't pay to see that one! The bits I did see were so nasty I would have had my head buried in his shoulder most of the time. [:'(] It was playing in two differant theaters so we looked in from time to time, saw a piece of the middle, part of the beginning, then the very end... then went to see the movie we paid for. Funny but I can't remember which one that was [;)]

Oh wow, really? I saw part of "No Reservations"....how did it end? (Personally, I was more impressed with the food, than the plot, lol ..[;)] )
