Changing your diet, not just before you get AF, but overall, helps. I also drink rasberry leaf tea (make sure it is rasberry leaf, not just "rasberry"), ginger and mint teas also help tummy upset. Calcium and magnesium also help. Advil works fine for me for cramps, it's all the other junk that I have a hard time with, I seem to be one of those who gets most PMS symptoms. If you are having severe pain, you should see a doctor, you could have PCOS or endometriosis, both of which can be very painful.
