I know this is a bit of a side note here, but if I could do a little poll here: Those of you who are opposed to the Florida Healing Outpouring... do you read the books or watch the movies of the Harry Potter series? I'm just really curious about that one!

I haven't read them but I'm not opposed to them as they are based on fantasy not reality. Harry Potter is also a literary work. Todd Bently in comparison is like a comic book. It's a parody of a segment of the Church in North America.

What difference would that make? The anti-Biblical teachings and practices of Todd Bentley are facts, and they stand on their own whether people watch/read Harry Potter or not.

The question implies a blind enjoyment of the material.
A better question would be, am I able to discuss the seductive nature of witchcraft and whether I've ever noticed it present in the Potter material.
No Christian should develop an appetite for the manipulation of forces or interaction with unseen powers presumed to be in their control.
I deliberately watched two of those movies a few months ago but we'd need another thread for that.

My comments were put there because I was dealing with doctrinal issues that have been raised in this post. Some people have erroneously concluded that things like healings, miracles, prophecies, angels, visions, dreams, etc. are all fake - because they have been abused or counterfeited. My point was merely the fact that just because people have twisted certain Scriptures, or faked experiences, doesn't mean we discount the real or the actual, that's all. I was wanting to make it clear that I was defending Scriptural practices, and not what was happening in Lakeland...

It doesn't. My question was not in any way meant to equate Harry Potter with the Lakeland Florida movement... I had been reading an old apologetic post I had written against the Harry Potter books/movies earlier that morning, and was reflecting on how many Christians have invited this magical witchcraft promoting series into their homes and their children's hearts, and I was just curious as to how many of the people on this thread have taken a similar stance against the sinful practices subtly promoted in the Harry Potter books/movies, that's all!

So unless you do believe Todd is a true teacher of God's Word, then there is no need for such disclaimers.
