I LOVE the cooler wx - I don't know why God has me living here. LOLOLOL

because there's no soccer teams in Maine!

LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, we don't have any professional ones around me here either. The closest one is in Miami. And that's USL Div 1.

We don't even have a PDL team. It's so sad. So I guess the top teams in the state would be the rec league I play in. Florida still has better teams, as I'm sure Miami FC could easily defeat Becky's Diner.

Of that, I have no doubt.

Oh, and the Darlington connection is that one of the more "interesting" NASL players used to play for them....that's why I've always at least kept an eye out on them. Can't say that I really follow any of the English teams - don't have the capability to do so except via the net.

Hi Pam! I haven't been around much since I moved to the big city! Plus, the weather's nicer so I've been spending more time outdoors and less on CW.

Big city, huh? So are you still in Maine?

Yes, I can call Portland a big city if I want to! It's all relative, I suppose, as to what's a big city. Here, Eastport is called a city. There's about 2,500 people living there. LOL

Yeah, it's not always easy to follow the English leagues. Most of what I do is keep track of what's happening online by reading as much as I can. I try to follow the top 5 divisions, but beyond that I can't keep track of what's happening. I really should move there, how's the weather in England anyways?

It's actually better than what you have there - because of the warmth of the Gulf Stream moderating the temps. I don't know if I would like to live there, but I HAVE to get there for some games at some point in my life. Wembley for a final - the mecca for soccer.

Ooooohhhhhh, even better - May 28th!!!!! ENGLAND VS USA - WEMBLEY

LOL! I wake up to find y'all talking soccer already!

I have to echo what Lisa says about the weather. The heat/humidity combination can be brutal, especially before the afternoon thunderstorms start to build up. AC is a must, though I do know people who do without it. I'm fortunate... right now, I don't leave the house much and I keep the AC on at about 76-78.

Soccer and weather - would you expect anything less out of me???????

Okay, time to get ready for church - have 45 minutes to get out of the house so I can meet my "coffee date" before the service. LOLOLOL

I just looked up England's climate. Looks fairly similar to Maine, but you're right. It is more moderated. Probably would be an easy adjustment for me to make anyways.

But yeah, I'm thinking Wembley GT.......

Tritto!

That's the only thing I hate about Florida. Humidity! The temperature could be low but the humidity is brutal. Which in turn means you have to use AC in the car. Which means using more fuel. Which means spending MORE money on gas.

I enjoyed Portland the few times I've been up there. Until they closed Captain Newicks of course (I cried when I found out about that)

Good evening everyone.

Sorry for all the migraine sufferers. Been praying today for you, Lisa, and for .Pammy, too.

Never did get my computer problem fixed. STUpid Vista. STUpid Norton. STUpid IE7. STUpid Microsoft Windows site.

Linux, I'm listening. Talk to me...

Still and all, I had a really nice day and got a lot done.

It was really slow around the forum today: guess that's why I got so much done, eh?

And, this is good night. Gotta get up and lead worship tomorrow, sing at an orchestra recital tomorrow night. Start summer crunch schedule on Monday.

Parlez-vous francais?

besiderself

The only reason why Microsoft is as so widely used is do the their aggressive marketing and competitive practices.

Vista is very buggy.

Good morning all, Need to get ready for church.

Newick's was in SOUTH Portland anyways, so that shouldn't affect your opinion of Portland! It just means you have to drive to NH if you still want to go to Newick's. There's one not far over the border. What were you doing way up here, John?

I just saw the SS office released the most common baby names for 2007. My first name was not in the top 1,000 most common for boys. But my last name was. This is really depressing that my name was behind misspelled names and such. Has anybody else checked the list?

Will do, the lady who is talking about the 40s was trying to figure out a costume, I suggested she call the college drama department to see if they had anything she could use. I hope she was able to come up with something.
See you all later.

All She had to do was dress like Rosie.

She did have a picture of Rosie, and a little story about how Rosie was a compilation of several of the women who went to work for the war effort.
Hers was the most interesting presentation because she is really into that period in history and knew a lot about it to begin with.

Okay, THIS is why it's gross to live in FL during the summer - it's 78 degrees at 6am, and the humidity is over 80% - and it's only May 11th! Can you imagine what it'll be like come July and August? We don't go below 80+ even at night - because of the humidity and surrounding water. The only time it cools down below that is during thunderstorms - where it'll go into the lower 70's, but only for a short period of time - as soon as the storm passes and the sun comes back out, it goes right back up to near 90 again but is very steamy.

Now Lisa, you need to move back to New York!

The big city and Maine are Oxymorons, he must mean that he moved to Portland or something.
