Talking about how much sleep we need, I am fine with 5.5 to 6 hours - it's all I need, and I'm not tired at all. However, when I am sick or when I have many consecutive days where I don't get enough, then I need a day (like today) where I need twice that amount. I medicated myself to sleep last night and since 6pm, I've slept 15 hours. And I'm still tired - but I now have things to do - so will begin researching stuff for a training I'm doing next week. I've got 300 pages to read. After that, I'll shower and go to church tonight so I can be home tomorrow - for a while, before going into work after dinner with mom.

Morning all, you have been chatty since last night...always a good thing!
I think I feel best with between 7 and 8 hours of sleep, but I might need more this coming week, we are doing textbook buyback, and I'll be really busy running books back and forth and putting them away. At least this time I have some experience, the last buyback we had I had no clue what I was doing!

My daughter and I are going to a brunch at my church in a few minutes. The theme is the 40s, 50, 60s and 70s. Should be fun! We will have a speaker for each decade. I'm looking forward to the 40s the most. Since that was way before my time and I don't remember seeing much about them on TV, or hearing much about them at school. (Well, we probably were taught about the 40s, but I may not have been paying much attention, way too boy-crazy, but that's a different story.)

Oh wow - the 40's - my parents got married in the 40's. Please share with us what they discuss - that definitely should be interesting!

Will do, the lady who is talking about the 40s was trying to figure out a costume, I suggested she call the college drama department to see if they had anything she could use. I hope she was able to come up with something.
See you all later.

I cannot believe I want to go back to sleep!!!!!!!! I've slept 15 hours within the past 18.5, and I'm still tired. Ugh.......I knew I was burning the candle at both ends - I just didn't realize it was in the middle too. I'm beat. I'm afraid to start reading, because that puts me to sleep.

Craig, what are you up to after work?

No big plans I'm just going home. Hopefully I don't get a flat tire like Wednesday.

Yikes, Craig...were you driving when that happened? (I realize you might be gone now)

No I wasn't driving. I heard a clicking noise coming from the truck when I left Thursday night I pulled in to a parking lot down the street and found a 3 inch long strip of metal in a half-ring shape sticking in my front passenger side tire with both ends. The tire was hissing so loud I could hear it over the truck's engine.

Weekends DO get quiet in here during the day - because many of us have stuff to do that we can't do during the week - seeing that we're at our jobs. And now that it's nice out, people are not home and on the computer.

Then there's me - I just woke up (about 30 minutes ago) - again!

Which has always been a source of irritation and disappointment to me, because weekends is when I have MORE time to be on...

and no one's here!

I hope you're feeling better, now, Lisa.

I can go for a long time on 5.5 or 6 hours of sleep a night. When I finally crash, it doesn't seem to take the form of needing a whole lot at once, but rather demanding a nap of a couple of hours everyday.

But I've also noticed as I get older that I just manage to get by without what perhaps my body really needs. In my situation, there just IS no down-time. And since my mind knows there's no time for catch-up, it's just learned to do without it.

Afternoon, Gary. What else do you have to do this afternoon/evening?

Esther - I'm kind of the same way too - thankfully today I knew I have NOTHING to do and I've taken full advantage of it - being able to just sleep what I've needed. I hate when this happens, but it does periodically, and I just have to go with it. I run on pure adrenaline most of the time - literally willing myself to get through the day/night. Days like today are rare - but it feels really good.

*sigh* I am STILL working on this paper!! Not much further to go, though. I hope to be done by Sunday afternoon, but I have an extension to use if necessary. I am sooooooo going shopping when I finish this class.

that's funny, Michelle. Going shopping when this class is over.......

Okay, so I *think* I may have gotten the rest I needed - and am ready to start reading my stuff for the training I'm teaching next weekend. I'll be watching Darlington tonight, and reading at the same time. This will be fun.......good race and good info to read.

I'm not selling my books back, but still, I'm going to get a new outfit or two, go by my favorite place, Bath & Body Works, and maybe even get a pedicure. It's Springtime, after all!
