i didnt like age 3 much.. the campaign was fun.. but age 2 pwns it by far for multiplayer.
civ 4.. had some good ones. the opening one.. and a few for the last era.
the rest i guess i know why you'd like them but they are kind of boring for me

uhm it should be way easy especially for the old ones cause they support both IPX and TCP/IP. most new LAN networks use TCP/IP, old ones IPX. age of empires uses both.
you mean over a local area network right?
internet is pretty simple.. you just log on msn zone or something like that? i used to play age of empires 1 when i was really really young. oh man the cho wars were fun. making 200 soldiers and throwing them in there along with towers, it was crazy. and i wasnt that bad at it even though i was like 13 and my english was awful.
anyway, is it for LAN or internet? and if its for LAN tell me what kind of LAN? are the two computers directly connected? over a hub? are there more than 2 computers? etc.

ok then just try turning off the firewall and then go to some site (msn zone, gamespy or something like that) and find it there and play online.
if you get a 'unable to join game' then its probably a firewall that someone needs to turn off whether its the host of the game or you

no it actually plays fair..
but honestly firewalls are mostly just for if you arent experienced with computers. i very rarely get viruses, and most people that get them its usually from going to sites they shouldnt but they dont realize it.
and usually when i get viruses they pass through the firewall anyway
so a firewall is mostly just a pain. and definitely not worth the money

The computer that I use is my family's...firewalls annoy me, and I don't really come into contact with viruses...but if I were to take it off.
It would not be pretty...So Kon, when i get my own computer, I shall duel you.

if i remember right when we had Windows 98 it would like crash everytime/freeze so it was not fun.

windows 98 is cursed.
upgrading to XP was one of the best things ive done in my life
come to think of it, i still had windows 98 when i first came here.
