Ear issues.

I need to go back to the doc and ask for an ENT referral. but when I go in they are gonna ask why I did not make the this and that and the other appt they wanted me to make.

My ear has been bugging me over a year now. I thought it was swimmers ear and did that treatment from wal mart but that did not help much. Before I went to the doc last time(a year ago) I was swabbing it with alcohol and peroxide(alternating) between 3 and 5 times a day just to keep the "hot itchy" down.

They gave me some fungicide drops at the last appt which only partially brought me relief but then the doc looked in my ear with all the aplomb of a podiatrist doing dental work if you get my drift, and even then for only a few seconds per ear.

So if it isn't swimmers ear or a fungal thing then why are they still taking hot itchy moments after they come in contact with moisture of any sort. I mean ANY sort... from a shower to a husbands breath.

Pouts

I do not want to do more doc stuff and every time I get a referral it is to some doofus in timbuckto

Ez, I wish you could come to my ENT. He iis really good and we don't live in Timbuckto. I am really glad that you are taking care of yourself now. You deserve it (although at this point, you might be feeling like it is more of a punishment than anything).

II have a smaller bandage on now. I have looked at the incision. It looks like someone just slit my throat. I can't believe that it doesn't hurt. It looks like it should hurt a lot... I mean, there is a slit in my neck!

Ellie- Jerry's best bud let his go til the "growth" was the size of a softball. He has the slit throat look PLUS another incision from the back of his ear down to his collar bone on one side. He did not take "care" of his incisions say- like a woman would who was worried about the scarring. he tells folks that it was shrapnel. the man has never been to iraq.

Keep that incision taken care of girly. You are in our prayers. (((hugs)))

And if you are concerned with the end result (appearance) of the scar, once it has slightly healed you can start using a product such as Maderma ... it really does help minimize the scarred look (I used it after my reduction surgery) ... it also helped keep some of my keloids to a minimum) It was recommended by my plastic surgeon.

Also, make sure this summer you take extra care to coat that area with sunscreen, etc ...

I will look into Maderma. Thanks for the name, i knew there was something that helped with scaring. I know about sunburns. The one on the top of my head used to be so bad that I had to wear hats all summer for years. I still have to be careful with it.

I certainly don't plan on wearing turttle necks or scarves. I am not that kind of person and would rather have the scar showing.

Doctor told ds2 to use Scar-something to prevent scarring. But, being a boy, he chose to let it scar anyway. I mean, scars are a badge of honor, right???

I guess my day is falling into place, but I am already exhausted. The McDonald room opened up, so I am leaving soon. I got the BIG room that can hold our whole family, but the whole family didn't want to come due to baseball games... understandable, but I was kind of hoping we'd all go, even if it would of been last minute packing. The in-laws decided to wait until next week to come, this makes everything much more relaxed! I didn't have to clean house for them!! Now, I am just waiting to hear when Buckaroo's surgery time is. And, tomorrow, I will find out if he actually needs to have surgery, or if it will end up being just an eye exam. It will be a nice quiet break to just have 10 yr old DS and Buckaroo... so quiet!!!!

Awww, enjoy the peace, homegrown! Noah is so adorable. I hope that this exam shows that the pressure is less and no more surgery needed.

Well, I totally skipped page 15 and up to my post on 16 because all the posts look HUGE!! Was gone on Mother's Day and started testing kids yesterday(Meg and Ty). So anyway... Hope all you ladies had a GREAT Mother's Day. I did. We went to Olive Garden with my mom and DH's mom, waited 2 HOURS , but it was worth it.

That must have been some great food, ddsisson!

Well, I am leaving tomorrow to take my two oldest students (Sam and Michael) to graduate with our private school association in FL. It's a twelve hour drive. It will be me, four teenagers and a dog.

The good news is that they are graduating (yay!) and that I will get to see old friends while I'm there.

The bad news is that dh is in Nevada, so I have to do all the driving myself.

But at least I will have company. I need to see about getting some new CDs in the car for the trip. Any body got any favorites? CCM is my fave, but praise and worship gets high marks too.

Feeling pretty discouraged right now... Busy day already. Up at 5:30 (slept in...) to get my swim in. Home for a bit, then ds1 and I went for a ride. Ate a quick lunch, then mowed the lawn. I hate spring. The grass grows so fast! Showered, then got ready to take the testing materials to the post office. 1) I can't find the packing label. 2) I don't have any packing tape (AGAIN!) I still haven't gotten caught up from all the crisis created while I was gone over the weekend. It's time to start dinner and I've gotten nothing done!

How could you have a busy day and get nothing done? You can't. You have accomplished much today, just not all you had in mind. Cut yourself some slack, Sister!

Chris Tomlin, Mercy Me, Barlow Girl, Casting Crowns, Todd Agnew, Jeremy Camp. All the iWorship ones are great for mixed artists. Check cbd.com for sales, and I have a free shipping code if you want it...just PM me.

Hazel, I got nothing done today either. There's always tomorrow.

Yah, and it's those stupid things that take your time but you can't show anything for it. Specifically spending half an hour on the phone with the hospital and the insurance company trying to settle a claim. Why DO they put you through all the automated stuff when 15mins later you have to talk with a real person anyway???

I did email BJUP for their mailing address. I got a reply within a few minutes. They apologized for not including the mailing label. Heck--it wasn't them! I'm certain the label and packing tape will come out of hiding the minute I ship the package!

Donna, thanks for the music tips! I haven't picked up a Barlow Girls in a couple of years. That sounds like it will hit the spot.

I'm going to go post in prayer requests now, but I have exciting news! Michael's ACT scores came in, and the college called and they want to interview him Friday. They still have openings for January for financial need students!

Amazing!

I am at the Ronald House, it is so nice! I am really impressed with this place, every time we have been here it has been a reat treat. Noah has been having a blast playing with all the toys and outside here. We have a realy nice room, a bedroom and then a living room area and even a little balcony. I am so bummed that the rest of my family did not come. My DH called and said that baseball was cancelled... that was their whole purpose of staying home. I knew deep down in my heart that we all should of been here. I am SOOOO hoping this will be a restful time tonight so that I can be home tomorrow. If Noah ends up having surgery, I might call home and tell them all to get down here:)

Three cheers for RMH! Yay! Yay! Yay!

Back to and old subject... am sitting here finally trying the Peanut Butter Oreos... YUM!! They may be a sin, but more like "sinful"... I like them much better than the originals!!
DD thinks they are a sin, DS likes them better than the originals... so our family is split. Of course, hubby is not here to cast his vote...
But - WOW - those are good!!

By the way - I forgot who it was, but did the situation with the locks getting changed and it looking like a foreclosure, but it was a paid off house, ever get resolved?? Anyone know??

I have a package of double stuff originals that I will share.

Today is Ashley's birthday. We are actually going to celebrate tomorrow since she did not want everyone to have to cancel their classes to go out with her. She wants to go to Quaker Steak for wings. Erin and I stopped at Lowes while the boys were in class and got her a rose bush. She loves roses and, like Ez, would rather have a plant than a bunch of cut flowers that will only last a week. She also loves geraniums, but the ones at Lowes didn't look very good. I think we will end up at Stan's as well - we were there Sunday and they had lots of gorgeous geraniums but I was a bit short of cash that day.
