That's funny!

I just found out my middle brother is moving to TX. Now I will NEVER see them! I am being selfish-this is a good thing for them.

Good to see you back, Lisa!

About the oreos thing--the only kind I've had that I've really disliked are those new Oreo Cakesters. Yuck! They taste like playdough. Other than that, most of them are good. I'm not big on the double-stuff kind because they are a little too sweet for me, but I'll eat them if I have to.

I like most flavors of oreos, but I like the normal ones best. I don't like double stuff oreos. Never had cakesters. Does anyone remember the oreo milk mix?

My parents got my car back to their house. My dad said the gluggling waasn't the power steering fluid but that my antifreeze was low so it was that settling back to whereever it settles when the car is off.

My dad has a friend who works on cars as a hobby who will come look at it tomorrow I think.

My parents will probably let me drive Mom's car tomorrow and Monday. Mom will pick me up and I'll take her home. The kids are being sneaky and think I don't know what they are making me for breakfast tomorrow (it's a recipe I had in a holidaycookbook for kids) and they need an ingredient. Actually, they know I know and we are just pretending I don't. I told them the other day that I was almost out of sugar and if they needed it this weekend they should check the basement. They said "Well, we aren't going to check it in front of you" but then 30 seconds later both girls ran to the basement saying "I want to see if I have any cereal left down there" (yeah right) and they came up saying "Oh by the way mom, we need sugar" LOL

They will be attmpting to bake tomorrow AM on their own. The recipe: take canned biscuits and cut them in half. Roll them in butter and then sugar and cinnamin and bake according to the directions on the can. I made that every MD for years as a kid. They will be doing this totally on their own. I told them they better get up pretty early because I wanted to be able to get in the shower by a certain time.

That's sweet, Zoe! I hope they have fun and you are blessed by kids who love you.

Thanks, Annie and everyone else. I have over 100 hits to my blog since I last posted. Do I really have that many people that read it or did y'all look at it lots of times?

Ezri, don't be sad...Sharon made me some too from the pictures I put in my blog. I love all of them but could only pick one.

Zoebob, I am glad you are getting automotive help! Your kids are so sweet.

Brandon has a gift for me and he's been trying to give it to me for over a week now. I keep telling him NO, lol. Nate is going to make me some bookmarks today and buy me a sundae tomorrow.

We have dinner with my dad's family tomorrow evening. After church, we have to mow my mom's lawn ('we' as in, the children I birthed) I am trying to figure out if I can do something for my mom at that point.

Well, we dropped Brandon and his wagon full of spinning wheel, fibers, already spun and dyed yarns that he hopes to sell, and brownies at the spin-in. There are a LOT of chairs there in a giant circle and a lot of people had already shown up. My mom wasn't feeling well so she went back to bed instead of taking him down. He is supposed to call me when he's ready to swap wheels, if he finds a trade he wants to make. My mom authorized me to spend a certain amount of (her) money if necessary, but she said she researched his wheel online and it is worth 3x what we paid for it! I will go back later, and my mom might, as well, if she is feeling better, to get someone to help her with her weaving sticks. Brandon has apparently inspired a new hobby, lol. One of us (and it might be Nate) needs to take some photos today to add to Brandon's portfolio. If it's Nate it'll be school for him as well as 'proof of school' for Brandon!

Nate's digital photo course is a week from Monday and he's been taking photos to have available for it. His course is in the same building Brandon is in today. Have I said how much I love this town?

Three weeks from tomorrow is Paddle Fest, as well, and we are all chomping at the bit. My sister has already asked about it. I should hire a personal trainer in the meantime or something, 'cause this is gonna kill me in the shape I am in And Brandon still doesn't understand why I won't take the kayak rolls class with him. I dunno, hon, something about being held underwater with no oxygen?!

I just had a great shopping trip. They were offering some of those "Buy X number of products and get $$ of you next purchase" I spent about $75 on stuff that we use regularly anyway: lots of cereal, spaghetti sauce, ziploc bags, and some other things. I got coupons for $25 off my next visit. Most of those things were on sale in addition to the coupons on a future visit. I saved about $24 today plus that much off another order...and all stuff I would buy anyway.

Is heat or cold better for sinus pressure and pain? My whole face hurts. I really should have gone to the doctor yesterday, but was feeling a bit better yesterday morning, so I didn't make an appointment.

And please don't suggest irrigation. I can't do it. I just want to know if heat or cold would be better.

I would guess heat because it would soften up/melt everything that's in there so it runs out. You usually take a steamy shower to loosen that stuff up so I am guessing heat.

I would guess heat too. If you have some peppermint tea you could make a nice piping cup and hold your face over it and see if the steam and peppermint helps...that helps me when I am sick and stuffed up (unfortunately I don't know if it would help with sinus problems though cause I rarely have those)

Donna - I have boiled water & put it in a bowl and then put a towel over my head & the bowl. It worked pretty well.

Zoe - congrats on the shopping savings! Isn't it great to get a deal!!!

Yup. I worked for it and made them too. I added wrong and didn't get enough of one product (more like I saw more in my cart than there really was) and they helped me fix it and get all my coupons.

cayenne pepper works really good for sinuses. Just swallow a spoonful of it.

Scientifically I don't know, but the mere thought of putting something cold on a sinus-painful face makes me ! So I would say to use heat Also the steam treatments would be great. Loosen everything up.

Be careful how you blow your nose, though--if you are causing too much pressure in there, you send bacteria back into your sinuses, aggravating/causing the condition.

Well, my day did not go as planned, but we spent a lovely 3 hours out on a friend's ranch, and I am glad that was the real plan for the day. I need to make potato salad, though--it's best made a day ahead, isn't it? And I am all worn out.

Brandon is with my mom--Nate and I went to pick him up from his spin-in and they said, 'he left with a lady in a blue jacket'. Um....okay.

Heat, Donna.

I have had 2 days of not much/broken up sleep, and I am dragging. Here it is only 11:30 and I'm ready to go to bed. I don't really want to go to bed - I have a book I want to finish - but I am tired enough that it probably wouldn't make any sense anyway.

I think it's going to be a long day. The kids were so excited about their plans for today they were up by 6. They had breakfast to me in bed by 6:30...and earlier than necessary. Oh well.

On top of that I was up at 2;30 because my legs were bothering me and ds was up watching veggietales on the couch. I hope he had slept before then. He was trying to sleep on my floor last night and left about 11:45.

I think that today will be a long day here too.
This morning started off with Dh waking up with a headache, sinus pain, and he didn't sleep well at all. Then Ds, came in and wanted to take the first shower after his father. We usually have him take the last one, because we have to wait at least an hour for more hot water, and he doesn't have as much hair to wash and he doesn't need to spruce up (like his sister and I do). Anyway, he had a major conniption over it and wound up getting disciplined by his father. So he was trying to have a better attitude for the rest of the morning. Then, when it was finally time for his shower, he had a fit when I told him that he couldn't wear a play t-shirt today, that he needed to wear a nicer shirt like a polo or a tropical shirt type. Something casual yet with buttons. Well he had a fit about that, so I have a feeling that we'll be dealing with that before we leave for my dad's.

We'll be picking up my grandma in about 45 minutes and then spending the afternoon at my dad's for dinner, then we'll take my grandma home, pick up a pie and go over to Dh's parents house. Hopefully Ds will have a better attitude for the rest of the day.

So happy to read this! Keep getting stronger Ellie! I haven't had time to read more than this last page, so I'll go back and catch up later.

Happy Mother's Day all.

I just got in from vacation. It is so good to be home, even though I did have a wonderful time at the beach. I'm not a big sun person, but I got to read SIX books this past week! Now that's my kind of fun in the sun.
