Here is another one that I should add to the list.

WHOSOEVER WILL MAY COME...by The Cathedrals
Wow, I miss 'em!
It's the first song posted in my Favorites at my
YouTube Channel. This is arguably the best ever
group of CATS...Super Cats!
(don't let DJM read this)

Danny is in his prime! The boys are at their best!
I dare you to watch this one and not get the Glory Bumps.

Find it at: HERE

Again...the First song in my Favorites.

Too late--if it's on this forum, chances are I've read it.[:D]

pauljackson -> RE: Chill Bump songs (7/11/2008 7:53:20 PM)

Ahhh...young Daniel...
...but did you listen to the song at the end of the link?

That's what made DF so great. Power, color, touch and beauty.
At his best...very special. And just a great guy!

Smooth Cats!

danielmount -> RE: Chill Bump songs (7/11/2008 8:53:17 PM)

Oh, you don't have to convince me to like Danny Funderburk. I like every Cathedrals tenor. It's just that Roy Tremble and Ernie Haase are my favorites. (Oh, and Mack Taunton, too!)

Music is rather subjective...is it not?
That's the great thing about it...we can all have a different favorite...
and nobody is "wrong"...maybe "favorite" is what I meant when I said "best"

danielmount -> RE: Chill Bump songs (7/12/2008 12:33:00 PM)

Yep. When we're talking "favorites," nobody's wrong.

I was just listening to The Cathedral Quartet Sings Albert E. Brumley Classics (ca. 1977). While I enjoy many of the Cathedrals' landmark recordings in a different way, I don't know if there is another Cathedrals project I enjoy more just sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying.

Stuff like that is 100% subjective.[:D]

"We Shall Rise"

both are by Soul'd Out Quartet and written by Matt Rankin

There Is A Fountain brings tears.

I agree. Danny Funderburk is a "glory bumper" anyway. lol. For a long time I felt Ernie really had the better tenor voice, but as much as I liked him, Danny just sings with such feeling and knows what to do with his voice more than about anyone else I've heard sing. With DF, you just KNOW that whatever he is singing comes straight from the heart and it totally REAL to him. And he knows how to make it real to others as well.

Cathedrals tenors were usually always great except for Mack Taunton. His voice was good, but something about that guy just makes my skin crawl. ANYWAY, that might be a good topic for a forum thread. Cathedrals tenors.

When Danny sang "Somebody touched me" I just wanted to shout or something. A MAJOR glory bump moment.

Wow Dagwat!
Could not agree more.

When Danny had his heart attack, a little over a year ago, I blogged about one of my most precious experiences with The Cathedrals. I was priviledged to be in the studio with them the night they cut the
vocals for I JUST STARTED LIVING. Mercy! One of the greatest spiritual moments of my life in gospel music. Too lengthy to recount in this thread.

Should interest you and any other real Cathedrals fan.

You will have to sort through some of the info about his heart condition last year...but I believe the story on DF will bless you, big-time!
Find the post HERE...leave a new comment there, if you like.

God bless!

His voice had changed by the reunion, but I think he had a nice voice during his peak years in the 60s.
