Ella is 4 and she is trying, but doesn't always get the job done. I can understand her having a problem with #2, but I think she should be able to handle #1 with no problem, but she hasn't been successful there either.

With Sarah (re #1s) we told her to either wipe or to wiggle until the drips stopped. [;)]

Hannah is 3 and 2 months. I have her try to wipe herself first and then I check and make sure it's good. She does great with pee, and sometimes good with poo. I expect by 4, she'll be doing fine on her own. We all use wipes for poo...it's just cleaner.

Kat, wasn't it Marshall that was recently constipated? How did that work out? I'm asking because you mentioned he may need help with wiping, while the poo in the undies could actually be a sign of the constipation and liquid leaking around the hard poo, if he's still having issues with that.

Good point. Actually, Marshall got over the constipation a day or two after I posted. Last night He went to the other end of the poo spectrum. We had to leave baseball early due to a crampy tummy. I think that was the undie problem that I had to deal with last night [:'(].

May I ask what you did to solve the constipation issue? If he continues to have issues with that, you can PM me. Noah has a pedi gastroenterologist for his issues, but I don't want to post too much since he's getting older and it embarrasses him.

are your lights like Germany where they go from green to yellow to red to yellow, or do they only do yellow before red? Over here in the states it's only before red...in Germany it was yellow before any change.

The order here in the UK is Red (stop), Red and Amber (be ready to go), Green (go), then Amber (be ready to stop), Red (stop).

I am confused!!
Here in Australia if you are stopped at the lights its red, goes to green when you can go. Then when its time to almost stop it goes to amber then red.
So you guys have one more amber then us then?

nicole6598 -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/1/2008 7:09:56 PM)

LOL I was going to say with the poop wiping that even some adults don't wipe very well...
In Kindy I had 4 year olds that still needed help sometimes, but they mostly all could do it.
Grace is good with #2 there is the odd miss, but she never seems to want to wipe after #1 and gets all red and sore. So like Manda, she is told to "let it drip" and then get off and wipe.

If it was my child, I'd do the "very firm hand squeeze" and say no, and keep saying it. If necessary, I'd pick my child up and remove them from the room, or at least go and stand at the back with them. I wouldn't smack (your spank) in public.

I took Manda's advice about the hand squeezing long ago when Timmy was around 13ish months. It worked. He hasn't hit me since then.

I don't spank in public either. I don't want to get in trouble with CPS or the police or something.

Levi is being an absolute bughead today. He has figured out he can charge through the gate (three sections of a large gate that are across the big doorway by the stairs) like a bull and it will move, so he won't leave it alone. He also won't leave the buttons on the TV and VCR/DVD alone. So far, he's spending a lot of time in his pack n play today because whenever I give him another chance, he either goes for the gate or the buttons and winds up right back in it.[:@]

BlessedMamaofmany -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/2/2008 9:46:37 AM)

that booger! Wes is being ornery today too..suppose it's the moon? He was picking on Isaiah, not like him at all, he's usually a dear to him.
We're on our second movie of the day. I so don't care today. LOL

That's funny because Mary is being a cranky pants today. No matter where she is she just can't seem to relax. She is okay right now in her swing, but she is pretty noisy about it.

Lots of fruits and veggies and a couple of good walks. I'm pretty sure that's the first time he's had that problem since he was a baby, so hopefully it won't become an issue.

Well that's good.[:D]

nicole6598 -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/2/2008 7:01:32 PM)

Nath was such a pain last night. He went down at about 9pm, woke just before 10 and screamed until 11.20pm. I had to basically stand the whole time bouncing him. I have no idea what was wrong but he didn't stop screaming the whole time and nothing new in my diet or his. He is teething but he was doing his old get stiff and arch back routine so maybe something bothered his belly. all I know is I am very tired!

firefightermama -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/2/2008 7:21:26 PM)

Nicole, poor little guy, don't you hate it when there's something wrong and you can't just "fix" it??

Oh, I can't remember who asked, but I have been in contact with Room2Grow, and there was no major crisis or anything, and she said she will stop in sometime soon and update everyone. And she said thanks for asking about her!

IAMJulie -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/2/2008 10:11:38 PM)

What is it with our kiddos? Last night Z started waking and screaming at 11 and did so every TEN minutes until 2 AM. OK, not bad enough that I had a newborn that wanted to nurse all night as well and was waking about every hour to eat but that too???

Last night DH asked if it was OK if Gideon slept with us. I had a hard time not laughing at him. When Z was a newborn and I suggested her co-sleeping with us on the nights she just wanted to scream all night and he said NO WAY! He didn't want to set her up with the habit of sleeping with us. Gideon's first night in the hospital he screamed for hours with DH trying to calm him, when I took over I brought him to my bed and he slept the rest of the night (from 1AM to 8AM). I think it won him over for doing it at least on occasion. Just thought it was funny that he asked out of the blue like that.

nicole6598 -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/2/2008 10:29:11 PM)

Julie that's gotta suck, at least my bubba was the only one waking and not two of them!

Yolanda-that's good about Jen (room2grow) thanks for checking on her :)

IAMJulie -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/2/2008 11:31:16 PM)

Yeah. I was very glad that my firstborn was at my sister's last night. He would have cried just because the other two were.

PrincessDonna -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/3/2008 8:19:49 AM)

Levi was up half the night. No idea what his problem was, but I didn't let him into my bed until 6, when it was light out.

Some days I feel like I will never get to sleep again.[8|]

RepentanceIsRequired -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/3/2008 10:47:23 AM)

Mary has discovered her voice today. She was on the floor this morning just squaking away at everyone. I tried out my camera that has the video option. I hope the link works (cause I'd like to share [:D])

MARY telling a story.

The poor girl had the hiccups and for some reason, not all of her talking got onto this clip.

ETA: edited to fix link I hope.

firefightermama -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/3/2008 11:41:38 AM)

Nicole, do you have your profile set to public in photobucket? Because you have the full link there, but it only brings me to the photobucket homepage...

manda59 -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/3/2008 11:50:47 AM)

That's weird. I watched Nicole's video already (it was so cute!) but now when I try I just get the homepage too.

RepentanceIsRequired -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/3/2008 12:56:11 PM)

it should work now.

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: Baby Chat (take 3) (5/3/2008 1:34:47 PM)
