I suspect both would probably be of help! I still have some Acidophilus from a couple of months ago...would it still be "good"?

I'm pretty sure you put it on their bums - but you might want one of the mums who've done it to answer =)

Yolanda....it does sound like yeast...it's important that you STOP the corn starch and other diaper rash creams cause they will only make it worse!!!!! Ok there are a few routes you can take...or combinations of them.... yogurt...unflavored with no sugar added (the sugar will kill off the good stuff in the yogurt that you want). You can give it internally (if he is eating yogurt by now) or you can apply it topically. acidophilus...it should still be good after a few months, as long as it hasn't been exposed to excessive heat (which considering the time of year isn't very likely). If it is the kind that requires refrigeration then it may not be at full strength, but it will still have some good qualities to it. You can put it sprinkled on his rash....or you can give it to him orally (just break open a capsule into a bowl or onto a plate, wet your finger, dip your finger into it, then have him suck your finger). Or you can do both orally and on the infection. gentian violet...the purple stuff that will stain everything it touches (and I do mean EVERYTHING). You can coat the insides of his mouth with this if he has thrush (YI in the mouth)...if it's just a diaper YI I wouldn't go this route...because again, it stains everything. I personally didn't find it any more affective with Emma's intestinal YI (that also reacted as thrush in her mouth, her entire intestinal tract, and her diaper area) then just acidophilus. Nystatin cream (or anti fungal cream)...works fine if you like creams. I have known it to clear it up pretty fast. If you can't get to the dr though to get the Nystatin cream then just about any anti fungal cream will do.

I totally agree with Sarah. I really like using the athlete's foot creams for those kind of diaper rashes especially. They clear up really quick. Do give him the acidophilus you have and the plain yogurt is good too. I think acidophilus is probably good for a year after you buy it.

It will still help for him to go diaperless for a while, even if he's not in the sun.

I just wish those stinking teeth would come through. I think we've been doing this on and off for two months now? I want my happy baby back!

ORIGINAL: firefightermama Dr. Sears website says to use clotrimazole, is that the same as the athlete's foot stuff? Yup, that's what ours says.

I think we should start a, "I hate Yeast" club. :) :) I jsu thave to jump in here to say that Jadon is sleeping in his OWN CRIB!!!!!!!!! I didn't have any music on in the background or anything. He laid there awake for a while, whined for his passy, and then went to sleep. I think he just doesn't like his pack n play - maybe he knows it isn't as stable? I'm so ready to bed train him. I really want my bed back. Yes, he's cute and it's sweet to watch him sleep, but I want my bed back! AND my room back. I want that pack n play OUT of my room. I'm going to buy a changing table because I know I'll use it. The only worry I have is that reports tell you that SIDS is more common with kids who don't sleep in their parents room. Should I heed that? Should I wait to train him in his own bed/room after 4 months?
