Today has been spillless so far.(we are up to 8 drink spills and numerous food spills. )
I am exhausted!!!!! I feel myself getting a lettle bit edgey......praying hard that I'll make through the day and that I will get a better nights sleep tonight. I have not been sleeping well with them all here. Just the overwhelming responsability is enough to keep me awake. KWIM.

Hey, nice pic Ed!!

( ... is that cheesecake I see in the background ... )

Okay, the skies were clear this morning, did you notice that Nadine? It is such a beautiful day! I came in, looked out the window, no fires!! Just a few minutes ago I peeked again and see some smoke rising over there in the same area. The news this morning said they were still working on containing it. I sure hope they get it completely out before the extreme heat sets in again. And more rain wouldn't hurt ...

Yes, the sky is a beautiful blue and we have some monsoon build-up on the outskirts of the valley......do you have some on the west side. I doubt we will get anything for awhile but its nice to see the clouds anyway.

There are some clouds over the southern mountains ... you know, the place where the UFO lights mysteriously appear (LOL)

Also, there are now three fires going. Two small ones, but the other looks like it's going the way of the one yesterday afternoon and the smoke cloud is getting quite large. I'm bummed about that. I really hoped not to see any more today. Those poor firefighters. Can you imagine wearing all that heavy gear out here in this heat and fighting a fire?

Do you remember that city-wide fire drill last fall? Well, it was my building that the Phoenix Fire Department used ... the one that was on all the news stations. I was one of the last people out because we're on an upper floor and I'm a floor warden, and I remember getting to about the 16th floor and those men looked miserable running up the stairs in that gear. They said it can weigh up to 100 pounds.

I'm hot just thinking about it.

I know lots of firefighters. I cannot imagine wearing all that gear.

Good Morning All!!!!

I am too exhausted to think today. Today is the last day with all the littles. It has been fun, I feel hugely blessed, but I feel like I could sleep for a week.

I hope you all are doing well!!!

~Blessings~

good afternoon, nadine. you are SUCH a trooper with all those kiddies around.

i was laughing with my mom last night at dinner. she was saying she should volunteer to help with VBS...and my dad immediately said "YOU DON'T NEED TO HELP WITH VBS!!" (my mom's health isn't very good...and she can hardly eat right now...so she really doesn't need to be adding things to her list.) i said i'd been thinking abou it, too....but wondered if there was a way i could volunteer without actually having to deal directly with any children. lol (i'm not a big fan of little kids....can you tell?)

so far.....we're both stumped. lol

Wait, are those your kids?

oh dear.... Kimberly.... hmm. You could ask your church program. I'm sure there's something. Like laying out the snacks.

I have done VBS for years and even co- led one. There is alot of behind the scenes stuff that needs to be done weeks before you have VBS. Alot of it I did at home. Most crafts are cut out and prepared ahead of time. some snack stuff can be done ahead too like mixing gorp and puting it in 300 individual zip bags. the older kids need pencils I had to sharpen 200 pencils. Lots of copies need to be made and supplies gathered. It is a massive job!
I would call whoever is heading it up. I am sure they would love the help.

I have the littles again tonight. Their Mom did not make it back in town when she thought she would, so they will be here one more night.
I had a BQ with my sister and her fiance here at my house so that broke things up a bit. We all swam and ate delicious food......too fun. My sisters fiance is not a christian, but he is giving signs that he is searching. My sister is a Christian, but she does not have a serious walk. Please pray that I will be able to minister to him in some way. I have known him for about 25 years and we talk quite a bit.

Yes I am caught up on my rest thanks, I slept in until 10:00 this morning. I am a very early riser so that is really unusual for me. I feel kinda groggy though. I think I'll make another cup of coffee.

Hey slush, how old are you? I was under the impression that you were a teenager, but I just read one of you posts, I don't remember where, but you sounded alot older and more mature. Were you homeschooled?

Good morning!!

I might be spending a lot of time here in the wood today ... the air is much clearer than here in the valley.

I AM homeschooled, and yes I am a teenager. Thank you very much! I'm 15.

I had the exam this morning! Some of the questions were hard. But it's all over now! I'm relieved. Leaving for a conference tomorrow morning. The conference is in NY and a friend is driving me. I'm having a sleepover at her place tonight.

Thank you! I haven't been to one in forever.... the only one's I've been to are in church for the 30 hour famine.

I'm not the type of person who'd stay up really late talking. So that's good.

I knew it! .....I homeschooled my twins for 8 years. They are 1 year younger than you are. Give your parents a pat on the back for me....they are doing a good job.

Have fun at the conference!

Yes, I had to put all three in school when my husband was terminally ill. There is no way I can homeschol now as a single mom. They are all happy in their schools though, thankfully.
